TwilightGuys Report: He Proposed With Bella’s Engagement Ring

HE PROPOSED WITH BELLA’S ENGAGEMENT RING.

I love my girlfriend, and I have to say I love her a lot more than Robert “Robward” Pattinson or Edward Cullen loves her. I love her so much I intend to marry her one day.

We’ve been going out for seven and a half years now and every day has brought me something new, but none as much as her latest obsession of the Twilight books. You see, Marianne and I met in high school when we were sixteen years old, and being introduced to Twilight made me feel like I was dating my sweet sixteen year old girlfriend again.

Unlike some of the other guys I know dating girls obsessed with the books, my girlfriend never insisted that I read the series, but her obsession was making me curious. Now being as obsolete to books as I am, I walked into a book store forgetting the name of the Twilight novel and asked for a book with a girl holding an apple. I intended to surprise my girlfriend by reading it before she inevitably asked me to.

Anyway, the clerk behind the counter was a man, an old man, and he showed me Snow White.

I knew it wasn’t that… so I decided to look for myself and ended up finding Eclipse. It was a small bookstore and I was too scared to get caught buying Twilight in a larger one like Borders, so I bought Eclipse instead and read it. All of it. The Edward character inspired me to want to propose to my girl even sooner than before because he reminded me of how much I loved her.

A few nights later after reading the book, Marianne was intending to buy a t-shirt to wear to the opening release of Breaking Dawn in August and she had the Twilight Teez website open on her computer. I promised I would buy her the shirt and that’s when I came across Bella’s engagement ring.

It finally arrived three months later (give or take) and my plan was simple. I had bought a new bed frame despite there being nothing wrong with the old one. I even went so far as to get one with rose panels. She was confused when I showed her the new frame, but then I intentionally proposed to her the same way Edward did,

“I promise to love you forever – every single day of forever. Will you marry me?”

But it was her face that was most priceless, when she recognized the words I was saying and the ring that she was staring at in its black velvet box. Her reaction was dissimilar to Bella’s — she screamed and nodded and said “Oh my Cullen!” a lot — and I kissed each of her fingertips and the ring that was now hers. I’ve since read all other books in the Twilight series and we plan to get married next Spring.”

  1. Rachul, I completely agree with you. If my boyfriend proposed to me like that I would probably laugh in his face. And then vomit.

I want my boyfriend to do something of his own, not copy some one else’s idea. Honestly, if my future husband doesn’t have a brain capable of wooing me with something other than my obsession, do I really want to marry him?

  2. Oh, and for the record, I love Twilight. I am incredibly obsessed, ask my boyfriend. It’s just that to me, Twilight is the escape from the ordinary. I don’t want it to be my life.

Why do I have the feeling that I’m going to be targeted as a heretic?

  3. AWWWWWWW!!!!! that is possibly one of the sweetest things ever!!! adorable, adorable, amazingly adorable ahh! xD lucky girl, does he have a brother? lol

  4. To Jenn

I would also want my boyfriend to do something original, but just the fact that this guy cared that much about his girlfriend to go and do all that was amazing. It seems like this was the dream proposal for Marianne and just the fact that he wanted to make her proposal perfect is what’s so sweet. Don’t look at the exactness of what he did, just look at the gesture behind it.

  5. Wow… I seriously started getting teary eyed reading the last paragraph!!!! That’s so sweet!

I understand what all of you are saying though about how its unoriginal, but in all honesty, it should only matter that he wants to marry you. If its love, it shouldn’t matter how the proposal comes, as long as its sweet. His heart was in it. If a story can help you realize exactly how much you care and love your significant other, than I say its ok. Can you really be that picky and rude to say that you’d totally laugh in his face for it? In the moment, you wouldn’t really do that. You’d focus on the fact that he’s saying he wants to be your husband. That’s all that matters. It doesn’t matter if he’s copying a fictional character, he’s committing to being with you for the rest of your life. That’s what’s so romantic here.

I think he did something amazing… Love is an amazing thing… It makes us do crazy things, including this.

(I can say though, I’d want a different ring. I don’t care very much for that ring anyways… There’s something I don’t like. Maybe its just me. But I’d love to hear my boyfriend say those words. I think every girl would love for those words to come out of their boyfriends’ mouths. They are the sweetest words ever!)

  6. OME! That was just plain genius! And romantic! I would definitely remember Edward’s lines too. That guy’s spectacular!

  7. that is so sweet! and totally romantic and so nice, he really proved he loved his girlfriend a lot, and of course she probably found out, too, if she didn’t know before, which is probably impossible…. awesome post, one of my favorite twilight guy reports 🙂

  8. I love it. I don’t think it is cheesy. IN fact it is creative and probably took a good bit of soul searching. Most guys are always so worried about proposing with flair. Well he did it with what I would term ‘simple flair’. The words Stephenie wrote are simple, sweet, and honest. Considering his fiancee is a huge fan, she will appreciate not only their origin but the depth. Best wishes to the two of you. May you have a wonderful ‘forever’.

  9. AWWWWWWWW! Completly cheesy, but so cute! That girl is so luck to have a guy like that, and that ring! XD

  10. OMFEC. :]
That is the most amazing and sweetest thing I have ever heard in my life. <3
That person deserves some serious kudos.

    XOXOH

  11. That os so freaking romantic! AWWWWWW! This guy deserves a hug! OME! I love the whole idea, I probably would have burst out crying! Aww

  12. That is adorable-put could have been done without the bed frame. I love it how the twilight series have taught guys how to be so romantic!

  13. wow. this is my new favorite twilight guy story I think.

if every guy was like him (and like Kaleb too of course) life would be SOO much easier.

yeah its cheesy- but come on, who wouldn’t want to marry a guy that’s willing to do all that just to propose?

just don’t go looking for Isle Esme for your honeymoon, lol

  14. no wait, it’s a tie between this story and the guy that poured glitter on himself and climbed through his girlfriend’s window as my favorite, lol

  15. OME!! What a great way to propose. And I don’t think its unoriginal – just because he got inspiration from a fictional book. How many other guys would actually think to propose that way? I don’t think I’ve heard of heaps of guys proposing to their girlfriends that way – seems pretty original to me…

  16. awww! that is so cute!
    Awesome man!
lol. snow white. me and my friend were talking about it during class and one of our guy friends come up and asks us if we were talking about the one with the apple. and we were like YEAH~!

anywhos, good for you man! that was a really good idea! it was so sweet!

  17. Holy crap! My brother’s name is Lachlan! How funny!

And that guy has DEFINITELY got it going on. He’s awesome. I am so jealous of that young woman! LOL

No, not really. I’ll just find the REAL Edward someday. ^_^

  18. Oh. My. Edward.
That is the most romantic Twilight inspired proposal EVER.
Almost brought me to frikkin tears.
So I’m pretty sure this his how I would want to be proposed to. 🙂
    Haha, yea, that’s unlikely.
    But a girl can dream.
    Kudos to this guy!

  19. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have a tear in my eye…

He knew it would mean so much to her, so he made it special for them! Proposals are just as unique as the couples they bring together. So kudos to him for knowing his girl so well!

  20. That is the single most sweetest thing I’ve ever heard of. It seriously brought tears to my eyes, and I’m not the tearful type. I wish them happiness for the rest of their lives.

  21. that really did make me cry. and now that i think about it, i feel kind of embarassed because i am not that type of person, but oh well. if only all of us were that lucky.

  22. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HOLY CROW OME OME OME THAT IS THE EXACT WAY I WANT TO BE PROPOSED TO!!!

  23. AWWW!! This is the way I want my boyfriend to propose, I would say yes!!! and hopefully the name Edward won’t slip out LOL

  24. AWWWWWWW my god!!!!!! Every guy in the world should follow Edward´s steps like you just did! I´m sure Marianne love you more now because of those tiny details you make for her! You proved her how much you love her! I´m so happy for you both! but I´m so jealous at the same time because my boyfriend would NEVER do that…he hates Edward because he is jealous about him! Congratulations! Best twilightguy story EVER!!!!!!!!!! =D

  25. The bed was a nice touch. I love these twilight guy reports. My 16 year old son has no interest in reading them and makes fun of his mom and sister for loving them.

  26. OMFE i want a bf like you. that is the most vamptasic twilightguy report ever!
yr girlfriendis so freaking lucky! :] btw, congrats on the engagment

  27. Wow. That’s…intense. I’ve read the book 6 times and didn’t recognize the line lol I’d be lost until I saw the ring then reply “Hey, I’ve seen that ring somewhere…” lol Best wishes- you’re considerate as hell- that’s a great start together 🙂

  28. How sweet. Now I just wish he go and read ‘Twilight’ and ‘Eclipse’.
And I hope Marianne and him have a great future ahead of them both!

  29. OH. MY. GOD. I am almost crying, and I’m at Uni!! God I would have fainted so badly. Marianne is so lucky to have you – I mean, you reading Eclipse, and loving her like that, and proposing to her the same way Edward did… OMG. *faintes* I wish there were more men out there like you! Hands down, perfect.

God I still cannot believe it! I got all teary. One of the best Twilight Guy stories. And I hope you two live happily forever. 🙂 Good luck guys.

  30. Awwwwwww… too bad I don’t a boyfriend to do that… hahaha… I’m a bit young for marriage anyway… I was half expecting him to crush one of the flowers in his hands the same way Edward did…… ROFL!!!

Hope they get the happy ending they deserve… that was sooooo cute….
