It is with a mixture of hope and regret that I write this: my final post for twilightguy.com.
At least, that is how I originally planned to begin this post.
My ‘farewell’ to the Twilight fandom has been written for about four months now, because I knew the day would come when I finished the books and would need to move on to my own writing. But after I finished the last chapter of Breaking Dawn, and looked back on all the great memories I’ve made in the Twilight fandom, I found that I wasn’t ready to leave all of you wonderful people behind quite yet. So, as for now, twilightguy.com is here to stay!
I have a book tour coming up, which will take most of my time in the coming month, but I’m up to sticking to this blog and all of you wonderful readers if you’ll bear with my fewer posts during that time (to keep up with me then, you can follow me on Twitter). Since I won’t be doing chapter reviews anymore (at least, until Stephenie writes more in the Twilight saga!) my site will be posting more video features, news, guy stories, special features, stuff from readers and enormously epic contests!
Speaking of contests…
WIN BREAKING DAWN, SIGNED BY STEPHENIE MEYER!

What better way to celebrate my finishing of the Twilight Saga, and my happy decision to continue writing here, than an epic contest? This book is my very own, hand-signed copy of Breaking Dawn, autographed by Stephenie Meyer herself. I’m giving it away to one of you, who have stuck with me through these many and long months of my slow reading through the Saga.
To enter, all you need to do is leave a comment on this post! The winner will be chosen randomly.
As everyone knows, I started this site with a notice at the top bearing these words:
Attention: This is NOT REALLY a Twilight Fansite. I cannot honestly be called a ‘Twilighter’ yet. This site is about me reading the books for the first time. I am not a ‘Twi-hard’ or any other name for the fans of Stephenie Meyer. However, I am a reader. And I am a guy. I may be one of the first guys to read Twilight and actually admit it. But I’m only doing it as research and not because I’m curious. At least, that is my alibi.
As of today, I’ve taken it down. Because now, I am happy to have read the Twilight Saga; I am happy to be a part of this wonderful family of fans, and I’m proud to be known as The TwilightGuy.
Here’s to more great stuff at twilightguy.com, and to all the wonderful times I’ve had in this fandom so far π

Oh gosh, I don't WANT Twilight Guy to be over – although, who doesn't?. This is terribly, terribly sad. What will we do now? *despair*
ok….so I had this long comment typed out and the site screwed up and I lost it. So, here's the short version…
I loved reading your views and reactions to twilight. Your perspective was so great because there wasn't all the “team edward” or “team jacob” stuff.
Good luck with your book release and life in California!
Thankyou for having this blog! It was lots of fun to read.
Official welcome to the twilight fanclub! I have so enjoyed your point of view on the books. It was such a new perspective and included things that I never thought about and have read them many, many times. Breaking Dawn is by favorite of the four books and your input made me appreciate it even more. I am excited to read you new book, maybe someone will run commentary on your book and pass on the baton. Anyway, good luck and good writing.
Thanks for everything Kaleb! You've been epicly great. π
Kaleb, you made me cry. I came very late to the Twilight world (just this year on April) but I fell in love right away with the saga, and when I searched the internet for anything and everything about Twilight I found your site. Just as with the saga I fell in love with you too. You have made me laugh a lot, I have enjoyed every one of your post and when you mentioned on one of your web blogs that you might take twilightguy.com down after finishing BD I started to panic. I compared it as how I felt when Edward left Bella on NM, hopeless and anxious, the difference was that I knew Edward had to come back but with you and twilightguy.com I knew there was no coming back after you took it down.
You have no idea how happy I was to read that you are keeping the site up. Now I can start from were all started and read your entire journey. You can always write stuff about the movies and, who knows, maybe one day Stephenie Meyer publishes something else for the saga like Midnight Sun or anything else.
Keep up the good work and good luck on your tour. I will wait for your post for as long as you need. Take care Kaleb.

Yay Kaleb, I'm so happy that you're continuing the website! It's been a big part of my Twilight-ness for as long as I discovered it. I wish I'd been here from the beginning, but better late then never right?
The Twilight fandom can really change you!
Good luck with everything! Hope you'll be back with more Twilight talk if Stephenie does more Twilight material!
I'm gonna miss reading your funny comments on the books, I hope S.M. brings out more books to read them and read your comments. Good luck with your book and the tour
I wanna win a free signed copy of breaking dawn.
also, what kaleb wrote was very touching and i'm glad he now is a official twilighter.
LONG LIVE THE FANDOM!
I feel as if this so-called “farewell” to the site, which is more of a farewell to reading the books merits a reply of substance. Sort of a reminiscence of my time reading your site, Kaleb.
I must admit, I was not a fan of Kaleb form the very beginning. I knew about him long before I ever read his posts. I clearly remember when I used to read the Twilight Lexicon, every so often it would say “Caleb, the Twilight Guy has read chapter 10 of Twilight and has blogged his summary of it!” or whatever they said (I do remember them spelling your name wrong at least a few times). I would always dismiss it and say “Pish posh! I bet it's just some stupid person writing a blah blah boring summary!”.
It wasn't until the summer of 2008, when Kaleb was somewhere in New Moon (I'm always debating with myself precisely when in NM is was) that I decided to give it a go. I started reading at the beginning and found myself laughing more than I probably should have. I remember I read all of Kaleb's posts as fast as I can, probably in a day or two. After that, I would check daily for new chapter updates.
I remember when I first went to Kaleb's BlogTV. It's laughable compared to his more recent BlogTVs. There was probably no more than 70 people there. I really miss Kaleb's earlier BlogTVs. They were much different than the ones nowadays. I feel he had more freedom. He could talk more about non Twilight and Bran things, but as the fandom evolves the BlogTV must too. I remember the first contest, oh that was hilarious. For all y'all who weren't there, this was before he did Twitter contests. Kaleb had had everyone open a private chat with him and whichever number had won a t-shirt. Haha, good times.
I feel like I'm talking as if Kaleb has died, which he obviously hasn't. Although Twilight Guy isn't gone into the abyss, part of it has nonetheless. Kaleb's finished reading the books. And those books and Kaleb reading them has been a part of me. And, while Kaleb himself and the website will continue on, his reading of the books has been completed. And it's honestly a bit sad. And an ending calls for new beginnings. And new beginnings, for me, require I look back at the past. Which is exactly what I'm doing.
Since I became a fan of Kaleb and TwilightGuy, I've made so many friends. I've gotten into humorous situations and full-fledged arguments. I've made best friends and worst enemies. I've laughed and I've hurt and I just want to thank Kaleb for all of it. My time as a TwilightGuy reader, the past, the present, and the future of it, will never be forgotten as long as I live. TwilightGuy will forever be a part of me, even if the books have been closed. It's wonderful that you have chosen to continue the website. I wasn't anticipating it, with Bran Hambric already on many bookstore shelves and you moving ahead in your life.
Kaleb, you started something amazing in the Twilight fandom. You began something that attracted thousands of readers. In this world, everyone has a chance at being known. You've exceeded the norm with TwilightGuy. You've transformed your fandom of TwilightGuy readers into your own nation of BranFans (I really just had to use the word “nation,” teehee). And I feel that calls for a congratulations.
In short, I just want to thank you, Kaleb. Thank you for all the things you've done so far and all the things you will do in the future. With this site, you've made more of an impact on my life than you can imagine. I also feel as if I'm acting as if the site is over, which it's not. I'm just writing what comes to my head, and I doubt you're still reading it by now. If you are: damn. And I don't know what else to say. I'm looking forward to the future posts and I still just want to thank you.
Thank you Kaleb. Thank you.
Oh Kaleb, I'm so glad to hear that you're not leaving us. I love your posts, I think that you are hilarious. Congratulations on your book, you are great, and I look forward to reading all of your books!!
Can't wait to hear your final thoughts on this chapter!
oh, and definitely entering this contest.
totally loved it! im going to miss it:(
EPIC that is the only word that can express how awesome YOU and THIS site are! I blame you 100% for making be addicted to gnomes and putting the word DESPAIR in my little vocabulary XD Thank-you for all the entertaining youtube vids and your funny/hilarious chapter by chapter posts on the Twilight Saga!
P.S. My Borders just informed me that they are holding Branhambric for me and that i can pick it up after 9/9/09! So excited! =) ive heard great things about it!
Yay this is so cool. <3 u kaleb
Wow, I can't believe you've finished the series, Kaleb (finally? hahaha). I remember the first time I heard about your website, from The Twilight Lexicon, and then reading Stephenie's blog post about your site. When I came to the Twilight Guy website, I was immediately charmed by your wit and commentary. I felt like I was rereading the series for the first time when I read your posts. You make the whole Twilight experience so much better than it already is!
Best of luck to you on Bran Hambric… I'm sort of waiting to read it! π
Kaleb, thank you for twilightguy.com. Without this site, there are so many things in the Twilight world I wouldn't be aware of. It was awsome meeting you in Forks, and I really hope I can meet up with you again sometime. SSIF 2010, perhaps?
I disagree with your statement that you are not a Twilighter until you read all the books. You were a Twilighter from the moment you decided you wanted to read Twilight, and liked it. You were a Twilighter when you met Stephenie, and the cast of the movies, and when you went to SSIF. You are one of the most famous people in the Twilight fandom, in my opinion, and to not call yourself a true Twilighter would be silly.
Congratulations on finishing the series!
Aw! Thanks for the great insight Kaleb!!
Congrats on being an “official” twilighter Kaleb Nation! Your writing is AMAZING. I loved Bran Hambric!

Woohoo!
Gotta love SM. Let's pray for Midnight Sun.
omg congrats now you are really twilight guy!
Thanks for keeping this website around. I've really enjoyed it!
It feels weird that TwilightGuy has come to an end well in someways anyway. I haven't posted replies to your posts but to be honest I've never felt it's been needed. But I decided today I'd make an exception, I felt it was needed. Just to say Thank You really, for a fantastic journey, it's been enjoyable well more than enjoyable really. Thank You for letting us come on your journey with you.
Good luck with your book tour and your future books. I can't wait to read it, that if is play ever dispatch it ><
Once again thank you π
Sophie
i would love, love, LOVE to win this book…as would ever other twilight fan, i'm sure.
