My name is Kaleb Nation, and this is the start of a journey.
I am a writer and a radio show host from the United States, and it was not until 2007 that I heard of author Stephenie Meyer. At the time, I did not pay attention to her books, because so often new trends come along for teen readers and disappear just as quickly as they came.
This book, however, has not gone away, and in fact has grown to become a phenomenon, sitting on top of the New York Times bestseller list for almost all of its 35 week run on the charts. Any book that knocks Harry Potter down any at all grabs my attention, but this book not only passed Harry up but continues to stay there.
I realized also the power of Stephenie Meyer when I wrote a post on my regular website, kalebnation.com, spoofing that I had been cast as some character named Edward Cullen in her upcoming movie. Within 24 hours, my website was receiving thousands of visitors simply by saying Stephenie’s name. This same phenomenon happened nearly every time I wrote a blog about her.
The last straw was when I looked at the front page of my own website, and realized that I had 4 posts about Twilight, and only 2 about my own book series! Besides the constant prodding by my readers that I should bloody well read the books, pressure began to surmount as I watched the frenzy every time Stephenie showed her face in public. An American J.K. Rowling? I had to find out.
And thus, despite the fact that I am a guy, and I do not read vampire romances, nor werewolf romances, nor hobbit romances, nor any other romances, I bought Twilight, the first book in the series, and am now reading it. This website is my journal, as I seek to discover how Stephenie Meyer has cast a spell over nearly every girl in the world.

I recently bribed my 17 year old son to read Twilight. He wanted a Donnie Darko dvd and I wanted him to read Twilight!
Well, he picked up New Moon and started reading it the same evening that he finished Twilght and then proceeded to devour Eclipse! He told me that I’m going to have to buy 2 copies of Breaking Dawn because he doesn’t want to wait for me to finish it!

I read the books to my boyfriend and after about the third chapter he was like, “Come on, what happens next?”

I think more boys have read twilight than are letting on… & enjoyed it too. My brothers (19 and 16) have read it & they loved it, but they continue to pretend it was only an “okay book” even though they each finished the entire series in about 3 days… haha

You’re hardly the only guy to ever read Twilight, I’m a guy and I’ve read all three books and loved them. Seriously they’re great, hope you enjoy reading them.

O.k. my name is zach and i just found out about twilight three months ago and when i finally got my hands on one i loved it!!! And about tha guy thing…i think more guyz need to read cause its always an adventure and they just dont c that and to those guyz like me who have had the guts to go out on the internet and post comments sayin that they read the books and loved them, ROCK ON!!!

Yeah well, my friend aaron (a boy btw) actually yelled at ME to read these books, he came across them on amazon looking for a good book to read and then started screaming at me to read them and when i did i couldnt stop.I’m addicted.
i would say good luck but you wont need it for these books, i will say good luck sleeping at night without knowing what happens next… thats the part that i had trouble with lol

First off, I must applaud you for actually buying the book. I heard about twilight about a month ago and how extraordinarily cheesy (yet hilarious) it was, but I couldnt bring myself to actually spend some dosh on it. (I’m a poor uni student) Hurrah for Borders and my long breaks at uni. 🙂

I’m going to have to drag my friend Jacob (yes, i know what you’re thinking, I’ve taken to calling him Ben since Eclipse came out, it’s WAY to weird to call him by his name)so then I can drag him to the movies to see the movie with me! (I have a plan, I am going to drag everyone I know to the movies with me one by one so that I have a legitimate reason to see it a thousand times with out looking like a loner)

Yeah I think I should start that now.
guys should read Twilight because:
1) even if its a romance novel, its a brilliant one at that (not those low, mushy types)
2) my older brother (he’s 23) has long been a fan as i have when Twilight wasnt all that famous yet. he doesnt really go for out-flat romance novels but Twilight isnt any ordinary romance novel. he has great taste in books – obviously, haha!
3) The Twilight series is NOT boring.
4) there are wicked awesome vampires & kick-ass werewolves!

This is such an awesome idea! I’ve seen some guys (sadly only two) reading the books in my school and one was actually asking if he could borrow my copy. I’m sure there are more and maybe this site will help them not to pretend to scoff at the sight of our large percentage of people in my classes and the hallways swooning over the books (namely Edward). I look forward to seeing your views on the books; have fun reading!
This is Such A cool Idea!!! So Many guys At My High School Are tired of hearing girls talk over and over about the book and Edward Cullen and the fact that all the girls (including me) have fallen in love with this character as soon as we read the book.But too actuallly find a guy who is willing to read the book Is Cool!!!!

Hey don’t be discouraged!! my boyfriend and his best friend LOVE the books and aren’t ashamed about it. My bf is actually the one who got ME to read the books lol….and I know many more guys who like the books too!! Good luck with this, not that you’ll need it. The only thing I can’t figure out is how you can spend any free time on here instead of reading…. I don’t know, maybe that’s just me–I’m hopelessly addicted to the series. Well happy reading, anyway! I actually had not read the Twilight series until my boyfriend and his best friend had already read it. One of them bought me the book for my birthday, and then I got hooked. I blame it completely on them.
Also, in comments 2 and 3, when “Stephie” called you nathan, I’d really like to think that she is a buffy fan and subconciously connected the name kaleb to actor nathan fillion.
My children were making fun of me,because once I started reading I couldn’t stop. I would come home from work and read, read,read. My husband was getting mad,then my daughters started could not stop,then friends and they said”omg”,”we want Edward”. Happy reading!! Can’t wait to get your comments,but you will be a twilight fan for sure!!
