1. oops! as if it wasn’t obvious, that Elvis song is supposed to be “Can’t Help Falling in LOVE With You” not “lone”. by the way, “This is for keeps” does not make sense to me as being for Twilight. I’m not saying it’s a bad song, and yes, it’s clearly about a vampire, but that’s the problem. It uses the word “fangs” in the first verse, and the vamp in the song clearly wants to turn this girl. Edward is set on keeping Bella human for all of Twilight.

2. I think that Bleeding Love should be for New Moon if they every turn that one into a movie! 🙂

3. Oh and also, I voted for Seventeen forever in the first round! 😀 I was surprised and really happy to see it up there because that usually doesn’t happen to me!!

4. I must say, the top ten choices are so cliche it’s not even funny. I must say that I wasn’t very enthused with the top ten choices. I would have liked the fans of twilight to be a little more creative. Yes, Time is Running Out by Muse is one of my favorites, but yet, we all know that this song describes twilight. I would have liked to see people have a little more fun and creativity with this.
   I was pleasently surprised that Spill Canvas and Rebecca St. James made the list, and I enjoyed those choices.
   But the other choices, Metro Station, Boys Like Girls, Leona Lewis. I have to say that those were a slight let down to the minds of those with some taste in good music. I’m not saying that I don’t like some of those bands, but twilight doesn’t deserve some overplayed pop crud that is on MTV 24/7. THE FANS OF TWILIGHT SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST SOME TASTE IN GOOD MUSIC OTHER THEN THIS LUDICROUS OVERPLAYED HIGH-FELUTININ NONSENSE!!!!!

5. this is me again, i forgot to say what i think would be a better song. (this would be Stephanie from comment 54).
   My recommendation is “This Wasn’t Supposed to Happen –
   Sugarcubes”.
   This describes basically everything Bella is feeling towards Edward. It is a wonderful song that I think best describes the book. Plus, it isn’t an overplayed ludicrous high-felutinin nonsense of a song. 🙂

6. It’s a tough choice seeing as how every single love song that has ever been written could apply to the book. I love Iris though….

7. I like almost all of these songs for Twilight! Some, like Iris, will only ever have one meaning for me though. But I’ve always thought Your Guardian Angel was a good fit. It’s a tough choice though…

8. I do agree that Time is Running Out fits, but I just think the lyrics to Lion by Rebecca St. James were written for Twilight!!! Go check them out, especially the first verse.

10. Your Guardian Angel is the PERFECT song for Twilight!! If you really read the lyrics, it relates perfectly to the book. I voted for it the first round and voted for it again. Go RJA!!!

11. All of these songs are really amazing picks. Its going to be really hard to choose just one! I wish we could see the results as people vote; I want to know what everyone is choosing!

    It was really hard for me to vote, with the Goo Goo Dolls, Boys Like Girls, Muse, and the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus on the list. They’re all amazing songs. (Plus Hero/Heroine is my favorite song ever). But in the end I had to go with “Lion” because the song suits Twilight to a t.

12. This is such a great idea! I love all the songs, but the one problem with “Time Is Running Out” is the fact that it’s on Stephenie’s actual playlist, which makes it not too original. But it does fit the book so well! Luv them all! 😀

16. Woo! My song choice made it to round 2! Metrostation ftw ;P The lyrics do fit from Edward’s perspective, and it captures the essential conflict in Twilight. Plus, I thought a popular, upbeat song would be great for the ending of Twilight (assuming its the Prom scene).

    I can’t imagine how hard it was for you to narrow it down to 10, Kaleb. I find it real hard to just choose three.

    But I like Muse. I don’t care if it’s on Stephenie’s playlist, it fits Twilight perfectly, which cannot be said for some of these that made it up there (Bleeding love? whaa?).

17. To Andrea: OMG!!! I watched that clip a couple of hours ago and I completely died!! I immediately showed it to my friend and she screamed! Robert is absolutely amazing, I love that guy <33 I knew he would make a great Edward! Ha! to all those who doubted him. =)

    and it’s not a trailer, it’s one of the scenes in the movie, and they are AMAZING! Robert is adorable *swoons over him*

    I honestly like the Lion song. Its one of the few that are sung by a girl. I know that’s kinda weird, but the way I look at it, the book is from Bella’s point of few. Essentially, it’s following her life story, not anyone elses. It’s about her. It’s easier to connect a song sang by a girl to twilight. Maybe it’s just me? I could be crazy. :p

    Anyways, the lyrics to that song are perfect. That one and Gaurdian Angel are my two favorite. I like the Muse song too, but I agree that it doesn’t apply to the whole book as well.

21. Your guardian angel is the best out of these, hands down. Personally, I think that Several songs by Lifehouse like Learn You Inside Out and a song by Dashboard Confessional, Rooftops and Invitations, are better choices, but out of these I vote for red jumpsuit apparatus.

23. i dont know what lion is but i totally sugested “Your Guardian Angel” n i cant believe that it made it all the way to the top ten which i am so proud of. i was also hoping that “Only Hope” by Mandy Moore was going to make it but Your Guardian Angel is #1 all the way.

26. wow. this is definetely really hard. i went through all the songs and listened to each one, looked up the lyrics and thought about how they fit into twilight and if i enjoyed it or not. and i had this whole paper of comments on each song and everything. it’s so hard to actually choose only 3 songs. and a lot of people liked time is running out. i listened to it once and i though “nahh.” but then i saw how many people actually voted for it based on the comments and i went to look at the lyrics without the music and then i ran into trouble cause now i have 4 songs that i like. so then i decided to listen to everything again and write comments on a sheet of paper about each one and the parts that seemed to stick with twilight.

    it was so hard for me! and i’m amazed that you managed to actually go through more than 5,000 songs and pick only 10!

    IT FITS TWILIGHT PERFECTLY. the lyrics are like made for the book!

28. I chose Bleeding love by Leona Lewis. I think it describes Bella almost perfectly.

    Examples:

    Lyrics
    “They try and pull me away but they don’t know the truth”

    I think that would talk about Jacob, other boys ect., Charlies, Billy and so on trying to get her away from Edward but they don’t know that she loves him with all of her heart.

    Lyrics
    “Something happened for the very first time with you, my heart melted to the ground found something true,”

    This could be when she first kissed him, or the first time he stayed in her room.

29. I love all the songs, but I vered to the songs that would be more of Bella’s POV. Except for the song my Red Jumpsuit Apparatus; it has more of an Edward attitude but it still fits with Twilight MOSTLY as a whole.

    But some of the songs had more of a pop/techno genre and to me that sort of genre doesn’t fit Twilight.

30. I voted for This is for Keeps but I wonder if it made it to the list due to fans who have read ALL THREE books. I think it will be ideal for book 3. But thinking as Kaleb instructed, for a song to play at the end of the book, I think this one would be really great.

    1–It is one of the songs in my twilight playlist
    and
    2–Boys Like Girls is like my favorite band
    I think that song is way to perfect if you listen to the lyrics closely…

32. Great, now I’m downloading 50 songs… (Legally, of course, through Rhapsody.) Yeah. I go to download the 4-5 of these I don’t have already (though I think one of them– which a lot of others have mentioned not liking– will be deleted after about three seconds) and then I end up downloading the rest of the ones by The Spill Canvas. (I love their song Lullaby. It’s one of my favorite songs.)
    Speaking of Muse, there’s an awesome classical version of Time is Running Out on YouTube. Cello quartet, I think. Seriously, any song can be improved with a classical version– that’s confirmed by a decent version of Barbie Girl, but maybe it’s just lack of lyrics there….
    I ramble too much… Anyway, then, I’ve finally picked three out of the 9 that I love.

33. “Iris,” is the perfect song for Twilight. There are some others that are close, but The Goo Goo Dolls have take it.

34. These are all great, but I agree that the song should sound like it’s from Bella’s perspective, as does the book. I picked “Lion” because of this and its otherworldly tone. Besides, the lyrics are asolutely perfect, every line.

35. YESS!!! The one I wanted is up there!!! WOOT!!! The others all come in 2nd but the one I chose is just PERFECT! Please listen to them all carefuly and imagine Bella and Edward when you do… Can you really picture this song in the background??? I TOTALLY CAN!!! AWESOME!!! Thanks for doing this man! LOVE YA! 37. Is it just me, or is the Bleeding Love clip longer than all the other ones?? Hmm…
    I just wonder how much more traffic these listed bands are getting on iTunes and Limewire 😛 I know I’m downloading them all, practically – so many of them (well, pretty much all) fit perfectly with Twilight. Good choices, Twilighters!
    I have to say I really like that song Lion, as well as Hero/Heroine – but I think This Is For Keeps has the most appropriate lyrics. I’ll probably change my mind, but anyway 🙂

    I’m also totally suprised at how Bleeding Love fits with the story! I was like, “What? Leona Lewis made it on this list??” but when I listened to it in the context of the contest, it made so much sense. Anyone else have this revelation?

    I personally love all the songs and each relate to the series in their way. But as i voted i had to think of only twilight, that knocked like three songs out…..Then i had think of which songs screams Bellas voice through the lyrics, resembles what she feels through the whole book, and still tells me about Edward (That part was Vital)….So in the end that brought me to one…..LION….And i voted! But i also put down “seventeen forever”,even though it’s in edwards view…it still matches the book in many areas! And then Here(In Your Arms), obviously cause of the ending, but it still reminds me of a lot of other scenes in the book! So yeah!

39. Sweet! The song I suggested made the list! “This is for Keeps” by The Spill Canvas. I totally love Muse (I mean I really do!) but to describe Twilight as a whole I don’t think Muse cuts it. Twilight at its core is really a love story. I think “Time is running out” is better suited for Eclipse.

40. I just want to say that I liked Lion and Hero/Heroine equally for Bella and Edward, Lion for Bella and Hero/Heroine for Edward. Which is why I voted for Lion for Twilight, because it’s from Bella’s POV. If this is ever done for Midnight Sun, I’d vote for Hero/Heroine. Make sense?

    So, go Lion!!! 🙂

41. Seventeen forever because bella WONT be seventeen forever like edward… AND hero/heroine because when i hear it i think of heroin. as in “youre exactly my brand of heroin.” The lyrics to both work perfectly also!!

    Besides the fact that the lyrics seemed to be specifically written with Twilight in mind, it is not the typical lovey-dovey song (both the tune and the lyrics), but has a mysterious ring to it all, which perfectly fits Edward and Bella’s whole relationship… because it is far from typical.

    …and so the LION fell in love with the lamb…

44. Wow, I would have thought that we would have had some different songs. I mean no offense to metro station or leona lewis but Twilight doesn’t strike me as the Top 20 hit songs in the US kinda book. I’d say either Muse Goo Goo Dolls or RJA.

45. Your Guardian Angel sounds more like a Jacob song for me. I used to think it’s from Edward’s POV, but then I read NM and listened to the lyrics again…

    c’mon…it’s oozing with Jacobness!! we all know Bella’s gonna end up with Edward (fingers crossed) and this is just Jacob begging her to be with him!

46. Im glad the spill canvas song got through, though I am am annoyed that so many contemporary mainstream artists are picked, but i understand becuase those have the most votes. I just feel like you shouldnt just pick your favorite song, and some of these are just to peppy for the seriousness of the book.

    I’m voting Spill Canvas, becuase, apart from it being abotu vampires, the tone and lyrics both fit.

    Also you dont have to pick an “emo” one just becuase you thing the book is emo.

49. Hey, its comment number six again. I chose Time Is Running Out because you have that whole feeling throughout the entire book, not just when James was tracking Bella. First it was mentioned when Edward tells Bella he cares more for her because he could walk away. Next when he confesses he went to Denali. Then, throughout the rest you get the impression he has no intention of changing Bella. Edward waits for the ‘running and screaming’ part. Lastly, we find out later from Alice that Edward never intented to out live Bella. He agonizes while Bella sleeps whether to break it off to keep her from harm. And then in New Moon, Jasper inadvertenly makes the decision for him. So it can’t of been that big of a shock when Edward left Bella. With little hints all throughout Twilight, you get the feeling Edward might not stick around. That’s why I chose TIRO because in the end it really does.
