1. Forgetting about the competition for a minute ;), I can’t believe I’ve never heard Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls. What an amazing song.

   Oh, and the lyrics from ‘Lion’ fit Twilight perfectly!

2. OME this is an amazing list of songs!
   they are all really good for the twilight series but i think some songs are not very suitable for the first book… for example AAM by flyleaf/ its perfect for new moon but not really for twilight (in my opinion). nyway may the best song win!

   that’s a really good idea! that song (seventeen forever) would be so perfect for the prom scene/ending of Twilight. it will totally throw the non-Twilight audience, thinking that Bella we be turned that night but of course we fans know better 😉

6. LOL, I submitted “This is For Keeps” in the preliminary round as well. I hate to say it, but alot of the songs just don’t seem to fit. I mean, I like Metro Station and Flyleaf but those songs just don’t feel very ‘Twilight’-y, be it in terms of the lyrics or the general tone.

   But, eh. That’s my two cents.

9. Okay, I realize that I didn’t get a voting thing that shows you the current results, so here’s some of the positions now:

   Your Guardian Angel and Time Is Running Out are exactly tied. EXACTLY the same number of votes, literally. Iris is just below them, then Lion. The others are nearby, but less than those. Keep voting!

10. Is anyone voting for Here(in your arms)? Just wondering cuz no one seems to be commenting on that song. I personally don’t think it fits really well, either, but I was just wondering if anyone has an argument for it. Everyone is proving really good points for the other songs, but not this one. I think this song may come in last.

12. Well, I chose Time is Running Out also, even though it’s already on her playlist. But, I mean, part of the lyrics are actually IN the book. When Edward and Bella are going to the baseball field, and she kisses him all “enthusiastically” he says something like “you’ll be the death of me”. And I just thought it was too weird that the exact same lyrics are in that song. I think it captures the intensity of the book. So, there’s my two cents…

14. VOTE HERO/HEROINE is matches PERFECTLY to the book (mostly edward, but still):

    thats just some of the lyrics, if you listen to the entire song you will see how it matches up to the book.

I personally love Time Is Running Out (plus I’m a HUGE Muse fan) and it fits Twilight perfectly, but like someone said it’s on Stephenie’s playlist and that does seem kinda cheap to like, use it again. And I’ve always thought This Is For Keeps and Twilight were like, a match made in heaven, plus that song is really underrated as is The Spill Canvas, so that’s what I voted for!

17. I personally thought this list was a bt of a let down. That Leona Lewis and Metro Station made it on is sort of a tip off, really i would have loved to have seen some less well-known bands that aren’t all up in the Pop scene. I forget who said it, but a Dashboard Confessional song would have been great, but i think the best Dashboard song for Twilight would have been The Secret’s in the Telling

18. I just want to say that Iris is the BEST SONG EVER, but it isn’t really Twilight related, and i guess a lot of people don’t understand the song? Yes it’s a love song, but it’s more about the pain of parting. Also, I hope we do this for New Moon and Eclipse as well, because Bruised – Jack’s Mannequin is the BEST New Moon song EVER!!

19. sorry to post AGAIN, but i’ve been reading through the comments and I just wanted to add something onto what Cameryn Rose said. “Lullaby” by The Spill Canvas is an incredible song, and i recommend everyone here listen to it, because it totally fits in with what i’d imagine Edward’s lullaby for Bella would be (only with lyrics). Whenever i read about the lullaby in the book, i always think of this song. So check it out!

20. I voted for Iris, but maybe it’s cause I’ve jusy been in love with the song for EVER…but Time is Running Out would probably be best. Bleeding Love would work for New Moon, not Twilight though… dunno why it’s up there. I don’t really like Metrostation and Here in Your Arms is just… eh. All Around Me is an annoying song, I don’t think it particularly fits, and I sort of hate Your Guardian Angel, although the lyrics would connect to Twilight overall I guess.
    That’s just my 2 cents :]

21. I voted for Lion. I love the song. I don’t know why Bleeding Love is up there… It doesn’t really fit. I had a lot of trouble picking, but I ended up choosing one of few that was from Bella’s point of view and related to Twilight. Why are so many of the songs from Edward’s point of view when the book is written from Bella’s?

24. I agree with comment 99. You get the feeling of time running out through most of Twilight. And also, I don’t think it’s that bad that the song is Stephenie’s playlist. And sure, the band seems much more popular after Stephenie said they were her favorite, but I was a Muse fan even before I knew who Stephenie Meyer was.

25. And also as an add on to comment 99, in the first half of Twilight, Bella would get the feeling that while Edward was saying something else, he was really trying to say goodbye.

27. I couldn’t agree more with the comment ninety-nine. Instead of looking into the the song, you need to look into the BOOK for them to match up. I also felt like that was a more dominant mood in the book, though not seen so much in the end. Time Is Running Out all the way!!!

28. Also, the book is through Bella’s perspective, not Edward’s, so doesn’t really make sense for a song that could of been Edward’s to win. We see the worry through BELLA’S eyes. A song describing her awe for him or fear of losing him makes much more sense.

29. I just want to restate what I said in comment 51 for anyone that didn’t notice it: “This is for keeps” does not make sense to me as being for Twilight. I’m not saying it’s a bad song, and yes, it’s clearly about a vampire, but that’s the problem. It uses the word “fangs” in the first verse,(don’t you remember that Edward doesn’t have fangs?!) and the vamp in the song clearly wants to turn this girl. Edward is set on keeping Bella human for all of Twilight. Open your ears and eyes people!

32. “Your Guardian Angel,” fits perfectly with Edward and Bella! I actually hadn’t heard the song until I saw it on the list. I listened to the entire song, and decided that its the most fitting on the list! But anyway, awesome selection of songs. They all fit. Allthough, I admit, I’m not much of a Muse fan. Anyway, “YOUR GUARDIAN ANGEL” ALL THE WAY!

36. Oh crap, I’m going to have to with either Hero/Heroine, All Around Me (sort of), or Here (In Your Arms). Bleeding Love is okay too, but I don’t think it really describes Twilight well. Bella really hasn’t had anyone break her heart before….and besides Leona Lewis’s voice irritates me, as does the song.

37. Blleding Love is an annoying song, and SO overplayed / over-marketed everywhere! I wish she would just bleed out so she couldn’t keep singing about all the love she’s bleeding! Enough already!!!!!

42. In my opinion I don’t think Your Guardian Angel describes Twilight as well as some of the other songs. I get what you guys are thinking but some point in the song it says “…Even if saving you sends me to heaven…” and Edward thinks heaven is the exact opposite place he’ll end up… Though I really liked Seventeen forever by Metro Station, the lyrics were practically written for the book 😀

    I was happy to see it was one of the initial songs I voted for in Round 1.

    I’ve always loved that song, and it fits Twilight perfectly.

45. I really liked the muse song. the lyrics fit really well and i can imagine it playing during the end credits. Also Lion really made me think of alice and jasper, and how she made him feel hope. Some of the songs have great lyrics but time is running out just nailed it. Muse has my vote.

    1)LION!! has anybody rad the lyrics i mean honestly, the lyrics are like made for twilight!!
    2)TIME IS RUNNING OUT!!! it even quotes the book “youll be the death of me”…im not a muse fan..neva heard of them till i read it on stephenie meyer’s site but i mean its catchy and the lyrics r awesome
    3)the one i originally submitted..BLEEDING LOVE!!! yet again, the lyrics…its saysing she loves a guy and people tryna pull her away and think shes crazy!!
    you guys may not agree with me but im loving those 3 songs to the max.!!!!

48. lion, this is for keeps, your guardian angel, and time is running out are just good in general with really fitting lyrics. twilight is written in bellas view so I think lion fits the best and I voted for it. it sounds like its written by her. its not depressing at all, look up the lyrics! the others are sung by guys or they were too much of a pop sound. to me that genre doesn’t fit for twilight (like someone said up there) dont get me wrong they still are good songs with good lyrics. lion to me is just better suited. I think bleeding love fits new moon rather than twilight

49. I picked All Around Me because i think that it really represents what bella feels about edward. I’m really glad that Hero/Heroine and Iris are on there too. And i like Bleeding Love but i really don’t understand why it was on the list. It really doesn’t describe twilight at all. I probably wouldn’t mind if lion won. I’ve never heard it before but is sounds promising.

50. This is for Keeps by the Spill Canvas just matches so perfectly, and the music seems to fit pretty well with the book. I can picture Edward playing it. (Most of) the others match pretty well too, but Keeps just seems more fitting to me, especially if you hear the entire song, instead of just a short clip. I don’t know, it was hard to choose. There are a couple that will greatly disappoint me if one of them wins.
