I don’t know why everyone keeps choosing songs they think are perfect for Edward when the entire book is from Bella’s perspective.
All I know is that if a song that totally ‘matches’ Edward, or that doesn’t deserve to be up there wins, it would be a major letdown.
I totally agree with Ali in comment 129. I felt the same way! I actually stopped listening when I heard the lyric “my fangs are aching as I’m pondering you and I forever”
i also fully agree with emily and ali in comments 129 and 153, i agree that its about vampires and its realted with twilight but honestly, fangs? there a HUGE no no in the twilight saga!!!

I’m sorry but I think that Time is Running Out is better fit for New Moon and not really Twilight… Just for anyone who thought that was like the perfect song. Sorry again for anyone who really likes that song for Twilight.
Definitely Lion by Rebecca St. James – word for word Bella’s story in twilight “Mysterious, that’s what I call You; I’m curious about You; I’m scared and not sure that You are safe; But Your eyes seem to say that You are good”. Some of the others are good songs too but I think they are more appropriate for New Moon (i.e, Time is Running Out). I really don’t think there’s much competition here!

no one has posted the lyrics for Your Guardian Angel, so here they are, for anyone interested. This song does a pretty good job of summing up Edward’s feelings for Bella. He would do anything for her, even if in doing so he was killed and his 100 year long life was ended. He’s willing to give that up, because he wants to protect her. He’s her guardian angel, and will always look out for her and be her superhuman knight in shining armor. He’s so selfless, and I think this song really reflects that. Anyway, here are the lyrics:

Here’s why I don’t think Your Guardian Angel should win. First, Edward cannot shed tears. Edward does not believe he has a soul. Edward doesn’t believe he can go to heaven at all. ‘I’ll stand up for you forever’ doesn’t make sense because he isn’t prepared tp damn Bella to an eternity of being a vampire. And even though Edward craves Bella’s company, he’d much rather her walk away for her safety in Twilight. Edward struggles enough as it is against Bella’s blood, so why would he want her to make it harder for him? ‘Use me as you will; put my strengths’ just for a thrill?’ I don’t think Edward’s that big of a masochist. And finally, Twilight is entirely from Bella’s perspective, so why does it seem that every one is looking for the perfect Edward song? And I actually don’t think it is because I’m pretty sure Edward wouldn’t be so happy or joyous or whatever feeling the song is trying to portray. He is, afterall, a brooding vampire with lots of time on his hands. 🙂
This Is For Keeps definitely! It matches so well with Edward’s perspective, it’s his song!. I really like the Muse, but not for Twilight as much as The Spill Canvas. C’MON! read the lyrics, i know you’ll think immediately of Edward.
OK, it’s true that Twilight is from Bella’s perspective, and the fact that i support This Is For Keeps it’s because of Edward, and yeah i might be wrong about that, but i don’t see a song that i could look up to from Bellas perspective, i just don’t.. (especially the Leona Lewis one, i don’t like it at all!)..

I kinda have to agree part way with Claudia comment 168 because Leona Lewis does not belong up there. Time Is Running Out is the only Bella’s perspective song I found on there because of both the book and the lyrics. I know we are all lazy and I most certainly never do this when someone says, but look at the lyrics. Maybe then you’ll see similarities.

This was a hard choice and a great way to hear songs i didnt even consider. Ithink the spill canvas ones only conection with twilight is that its about a vampire and that in relation to twilight specifically (as opposed to other vampire books) dosnt go as well as others

Time is running out- I think this is VERY valid despite what some people are saying. The main conflict of twilight (just the first book)especially at the begginng is what edward considers his fixation with Bella (not being able to ignore/give her up) and the danger it puts her in.
BTW when it said ‘sense of elation’ for ages i could have sworn it was ‘sense ovulation’ which made me laugh – coz he can.
I think My guardian angel is good- but i cant realy see how it represents twilight more than any of the others.

The more i think about the more i think that My guardian angel – although a really good song doesnt fit twilight very well eg. Edwards does not think he is going to heaven/ have tears etc
the spill canvas is a great vampire song but is not fitting for twilight (just the first book) as the whole subject of changing only ever comes up in the last few chapters

Why is everyone all obsessed w/ the notion that Your Guadian Angel has to be from Edward’s perspective? I know Edward phiysically saves Bella 3 times in Twilight, but it is Bella who truly “saves” Edward. She gives him reason to live. She spiritually and emotionally saves him. Your Guardian Angel works from both perspectives, (it’s music/art folks, it doesn’t have to be completely literal). But, for me, it is Bella who is Edward’s guardian angel. In this song it is Bella saying I’ll stay w/ you forever. Also, it works best in the verse that has the lines “please don’t walk away”, “please tell me you’ll stay”. Bottom line: they both save each other. Isn’t that why this book and these characters are so amazing?
I’m ok with any of them except “Bleeding Love” because it is perhaps the most annoying song in the last decade, and “Seventeen Forever” because it sounds like it’s written in the perspective of a pedophile. It creeps me out. The other eight are all wonderful!
