As is tradition on this site, the time has come to pick the song for Eclipse!
For each chapter I have written about, I have picked a song that I think best fits the mood and scenes in that part of the book. However, as with my final reviews of Twilight and New Moon, I am letting you, the loyal readers of my site, pick the final song that you think BEST FITS WITH THE ENTIRE NOVEL as a whole.
The voting will take place in two parts: the first will be suggesting songs, for one week, and then the second will be voting from the top ten most suggested. You can nominate up to three songs per person, and can also choose songs that were already used for chapter posts — use the form below to start sending them in!
There will perhaps also be certain epic prizes for people who send in suggestions and comment on this post: though I can’t quite reveal what they are until February 28 (oh wait, I’ve said too much…). Have fun!

Just like many others, I found it hard to put music to Eclipse. Yes, there is a huge amount of song to fit to Twilight, New Moon, and Breaking Dawn , but Eclipse is the hard one. You would need to look at songs that are more about Bella and Jacobs relationship, rather than Bella and Edwards.
I can’t wait to see what’s in the magical box of mysterious mystery. I have no clue what it is. I’m not that good at guessing things.
It’s amazing how so many songs seem to fit so well with Stephenie’s books… So as long as it’s not the Jonas Brothers, I will be content.
I submited a nice song that I just thought, as I listened to it: “that just so fits the characters of the Twilght saga” but it’s not very Eclipse-specific. I kind of regret (okay, a lot) not knowing this website before, because I have a very good song for New Moon… Goes: “is it hard to go on/make them believe you are strong” Sooo Bella left alone.
And I add: anything by Muse (I’ve seen several ones in the comments) has to be on the top ten. They’re the BEST.
I just suggested what will probably be the only french song in here- but it fits really well. That is, if Jacob let himself fall into despair. Sometimes I just can’t understand how he goes on. Anyway, a translation of some of the chorus goes: “my dreams won’t let your fingers go/ I love you too much, it upsets you/ my dreams are breaking upon your fingers/ I love you too much…”
Meh. I love this song.

I still say Torn Between Two Lovers by Mary Macgregor. Beyond perfect for Eclipse. I don’t have time to type in the lyrics so look up comment #92. I think the name on it is Nicole. Those are the lyrics and they are flippin’ awesome.

i know the title of hot n cold suits … but i really dont think the song has much to do with eclipse at all! Im finding myself really hoping it wont win!!
anyway im a fan of vindicated, falling away with you, newborn, hysteria and i will posses your heart…
Its hard to decide what facet of the story to go with the whole jacob thing, bellas choice to be a vampire, the newborn threat?? so much its hard to decide the song that sums it all up!
I think vindicated is for edward, falling away with you/ IWPYH- jacob, hysteria – all and newborn- the newborn conflict.
I saw someone say bruises by chairlift… might not suit so well … but i like the soong!!

I really like the idea of Decode by Paramore being the song for this book. I know that it was on the Twilight soundtrack, so I hope that doesn’t void it out. But there are parts like, “you can’t decode my thoughts” that apply to Edward and Bella. Also the song is questioning how they got to the place they are at b/c they thought they knew each other. This is sort of like Bella and Jacob, b/c she never saw the relationship escalating to where it is, etc.
Idk. I love that song.
I entered Shadow of the Day by Linkin Park. The underlying “theme” of the book is everything that Bella will be giving up when she becomes a vampire. I think this song really shows the sorrow that Edawrd feels when he thinks about this being the twilight of Bella’s life. She’s giving up her friends, her family and the future he thinks she should have.
It’s so hard to pick just one!

Ugh, I can’t think of anything for the book through Bella’s perspective but I think Scars by Papa Roach would be great for Jacob’s POV

I picked First Time by Lifehouse, Our Solemn Hour by Within Temptation, and Love You to Death by Kamelot.
yea, i’ve noticed lots of people suggested Within Temptation. awesome.
also, i realized in the song You Belong With Me (by Taylor Swift), if you switch the gender of the words (ex: she-he, her-his, etc), it works perfectly describing Jacob’s feelings towards Bella.

I think I’ll Follow you into the Dark by Death Cab for Cutie is a great song for Eclipse, but it’s so much better for Breaking Dawn so I don’t want to suggest it yet. I think so Eclipse I’m going with “Love Hurts” by Nazareth or “Save You” by Matthew Perryman
I was really happy to see Gravity by Sara Bareilles already recommended! That’s one I definitely agree with.
Another is Dig by Incubus. To me, the whole thing with Eclipse is the fight between the two versions of Bella. Remember the magnets? It takes her the whole book to figure out the animosity between vampire and werewolf is not the problem, but the war she is fighting within herself. The war of self is a predominant theme of Dig, in my opinion.
My third is Volcano by Damien Rice. I think it describes the type of relationships this book has perfectly.

I chose frozen by Madonna, its really old, from the album ray of light.
Huumm., It’s been a while since i’ve finished this book, but I think that The Howling by Within Temptation sould be a good choice (haha, it’s the song I’ve listened the most while reading it ^^)

So, I literally went through all of the idea so far, listening and reading lyrics.
I really wanted my votes to represent the entire book, or a major theme that was carried throughout – less about each character. It seems silly to pick songs that center around only BxE or BxJ … that is rather incomplete.

Number one is my absolute pick. Two carried the tone of the proposal and three is so very Edward and Jacob.

I know several have said this, but I think “Hot and Cold” would be the best fit for this book. Its TOTALLY Bella about not knowing what she wants. She is constantly changing her mind. She can’t make up her mind in this book!
Oh my god how many comments there are already. I looked through some comments and found some really good songs. Anyway – the song I’m going for is Jesse McCartney – Just So You Know. His music is certainly not my style ,but the song kinda talks about the story from Jacob’s perspective ( how he keeps bugging Bella with “I know you love me, crap”).

There are a lot of good songs for Eclipse, but most of them are kinda sensitive and gentle ,so they make me a bit dizzy. If I would suggest some thing else ,it would be from the rock music side.
I don’t know about everyone else, but I think Blackout, by Muse, would be really awesome for this song…But then again, that’s just me…

I guess Hot & Cold by Katy Perry would work, as suggested in a bunch of other comments. It’s pretty much the only song that I’ve heard that people have mentioned (I know that’s kind of sad).
