I was told that the image the gossip websites were reporting earlier as the cover was actually not real. So if you saw something purporting to be exclusively leaked etc. etc. before now, erase it from your mind! This one is far better in my opinion too — and all you Team Jacob people now have a book cover just for you.
Also, the Twilight Lexicon reports that this book will be available on September 15, 2009.

I don't get what that big circle thing on his arm is, though. And Edward looks like an angry emo creeper. I say that because it looks like he's wearing a lot of guyliner, and well, he was a creeper to begin with.

I like it. I think they did a great job! Love the warm colors.
All of the wolves have the tattoo. You can see it on the arms of the whole pack in the first photo Summit released of the wolves.
I love it.
But I must ask, since when does Bella wear tank tops in Forks? I mean, sure, Jake is warm and everything, so she may not be cold, but thats part of the reason I love Bella so much- she doesnt dress in girly tank tops.
All in all though, ten times better than the Twilight movie tie in cover. 🙂

I like the simplicity of the original book covers, and I don't plan to buy any tie-ins.
I don't think I'll buy sny of the tie-ins either. It's very cool looking, but personally I think the random image of a pretty flower is almost better. 🙂 VERY cool looking though!!!!!!

I like it, but it is a little too much Jacob. it almost looks like Bella has forgotten Edward and crossed over to Jacob's side and Edward is mad. I like the real covers better, they are so simple and yet mysterious.
The on;y real problem I have with this is the tattoo but whatever, I guess they can give jacob a tattoo if they want. Maybe they think it makes him seem more bad a**. I mean he is supposed to be tough and all… I think there was a little too much closeness between Bella and Jacob but thats just me. But overall it is an alright cover.
I like it! It kind of fits the plot of the book; Bella is comfortable in Jacob's arms, but it also looks like she's kind of squirming away from him, and Edward's in the background, looming larger in her thoughts/life… IDK, it makes sense to me! I probably won't buy it though, because I don't see the point in having two copies of the same book… but maybe my mom will buy it so she can read it herslf, since she did the same thing with Twilight…
Okay, Taylor looks amazing. I like his protective stance. However, I wish Kirsten looked more . . . depressed, sad, pathetic, (pick a word) instead of so sexy. I think that part miscontrues how Bella felt toward Jacob at that point.
I also won't be buying it. I prefer my old copy of New Moon that existed long before a major motion picture and has obviously been read a few times. 🙂

I think in movies sometimes they forget some of the little things about characters that make them who they are. I was also thinking the same thing. But it isn't to girlie, I have seen worse. 🙂
I won't buy it either not because I don't like it but because she doesn't look like she just wants to be his friend or that she misses Edward. Plus I hate paper backs.
I love it more than the twilight move book cover. There's more than juts Edward and Bella. I like the other werewolf's i the background. looks amazing.
I think it looks amazing. Bella (Kristen) looks sad and confused, and like she just needs SOMEBODY to hold her in this picture. Jake (Taylor) looks very protective and loving, but he also looks like he knows the love is unreturned and is just trying to comfort her the best he can. Edward (Rob), God, I love what they did here! He's in the background, like he's always in the back of Bella's mind in the book. He's glaring angrily, which means he's not happy to see her with a werewolf, not to mention one he thinks is dangerous. Plus, he's sort of making the sky darker, like a new moon, and being an eclipse, which, like the poster, is a sort of shout-out to the next book. Overall, A++!! Very clever and well put-together. However, I won't be one of those to get it. I don't see the point in having 2 copies of the same book; plus, when I read the books with the movie covers, it feels like I'm reading a movie that's been turned INTO the book, rather than the other way around. I don't know, that's just how I see it. I much prefer the original covers, which simply convey the message and makes me feel like I've been reading an actual book, instead of a movie-to-book translation. But it IS very pretty…… 😉

I don't think it looks all that great… they are trying to play up the love triangle but that doesn't really come around until Eclipse. Right now they are more friends, at least the way Bella is seeing it. Edward is not just a backdrop for her in New Moon; he is everything even if he isn't there with her. Jacob is important, and his importance to Bella grows with each chapter, but that doesn't mean he is the number one in her life. I mean, she completely ditched him for Alice and Edward at the end. I hope they realize that Jake isn't her number 1 yet (and even when he is he shares that spot with Edward) or else it might just ruin the entire movie.
Bella and Jacob look surprisingly intimate i would say.
while i love the layout and the way Edward looks over them (but on a FULL moon?!) but it seems like Bella has just moved on to the next guy. Bella didnt see it as romantic at that point and i think the cover suggests otherwise.

okay, well i think you should stop posting links to twilight movie promos because your readers are hardcore fans and have already probably seen it. you should stick to writing your blog because that's the only reason anyone comes onto this site. what are you trying to do? hold off the end of breaking dawn to draw out your online fame a little, because you know once you finish his book, you're done? i love your site, but it's frustrating when you never blog about the book and only post snippets of other ridiculous things like your twitter page. i don't care, and i know a lot of other people don't. so please, can you continue writing about the books?
I like New Moon and all but…. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edward should be in better view! He should at least have a look of sadness! Not like he's phyco!!! >:( And I not a Jacob or Edward fan. I a Jasper fan ^^

DISCLAIMER: I know these first few sentences will make me sound like some rabid 12 year old, but frankly, I don't care…
Holy OMG. That is HAWT. Tt looks a bit more like a trashy romance novel than the masterpiece that is New Moon, but still… dayyyyng.
Now to actually interpret it…
You can see the tension and confusion of the situation in Kristen/Bella's face, and it looks as if she is pushing him away with the left hand, yet hanging on with her right. The tank top is not Forks-ish at all, though. Interpreting it is hard though, because you can't help but stare at Taylor/Jacob, in all his beautiful glory. And Rob/Edward looks slightly creepy. And besides, New Moon=NO MOON AT ALL, ESPECIALLY NOT ONE WITH A VAMPIRE FACE ON IT. As much as I love Rob/Edward, the moon was just a stupid idea. All in all, I prefer this to the movie poster though, because in this picture, my lovely Taylor/Jacob is holding her and looking strong and sexy and protective and hot, and in the movie one he looks hot whilst also looking tlike he is stabbing Bella. And if I remember correctly Book-Jacob is in fact protective and hot and such, but I don't remember him sticking a knife in Bella…
Quite honestly… please don't kill me… I like the original cover better. I think how the covers all tie together is really cool. I mean, I know a lot of series have like covers, but I just love of simple they are. No people or big scenes, just an object that stands for the plot. In this cover, Edward's face looks creepy (and it kinda looks like he's wearing eye liner, idk.) And for some reason I just don't like how it says “The Twilight Saga” on it. Once again, I don't know, I just don't. Anyway, continue with the hysterical screaming. 😉 (Sorry if i can't spell, I'm half awake.)
And it's coming out on my birthday!! I feel important!!

Hey Kaleb – way to go on following the wishes of EW. I just really wanted to make sure you knew that some of us appreciate when others follow directions.
