I can’t imagine how long all of you have waited for this day. Though I am a fairly new reader of the books, and haven’t finished the second yet, even I felt enormous anticipation for this day. I stayed up until 2 AM watching the Twilighters.org videocast just to see them get their copies of Breaking Dawn, after watching the entire New York event with Stephenie live on iClips.
The reaction across the country can pretty much be summed up in these videos:

I would love to go off and read my copy of breaking dawn… but i don’t get it till monday!!!
*shakes fist at lack of international release date*
ro.
I will send you the videos I had my minions take while I was being trampled to death. But now, I read.
Lucky for some – I have to wait until Monday for my copy =[. Stupid country. Anyway, the queues look fantastic – the bookshops don’t open in Ireland unless it’s for Harry Potter, as huge as Twilight is.
So the releases weren’t quite around the world, but we’ll get there =]
* don’t open “early”, lol. Sorry.
Well it is I got my book at 12:24 AM. It is now 6 AM and I have decided I will try to take a nap before the sun comes up. I really didn’t intend to stay up this late (early?). It just happened. By the way, the midnight release party itself wasn’t the fun part, it was sitting around, hanging out with your twilight friends and talking about the books and your theories for a few hours. Being excited together makes it that much better.
I so wish i was there…. i have to wait til monday here! but Ill be at the breaking dawn party. so excited!
was the first video from Indigo at Yorkdale? cause it it was i was there!!!!
I started reading at 1:00am and finished at 8:18am. No stops except for a bathroom break! It was amazing!
well i work night shift at tim hortans, 11pm-7am. We were busy as hell, kept on haveing 2-3 buses at a time lol. and there where only 2 of us. so anyways during the rush i kept on thinking how many mins left till The relase. lol then as 12:00 hit i said aloud “Breaking dawn is now offically out!” and a quit a few ppl are like YES..and told me they are gonna go buy the book first thing the morrining! it was Really funny! and there were some kids and a few adults that said that! hehe
Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m a HUGE Twilight fan… but I was really disappointed. I think Bella stepped out of character (Remember her in the first book? A little shy, never been kissed, thinking holding Edward’s hand is the best thing on Earth?). It all was… weird for me…
*Hides from fangirls*
Wow. Lots of screaming in the first one.
I probably won’t get my hands on the book until at least a few months from now. You won’t be able to see it at my library: it’ll be passed from one person to another without hitting the shelf. 😉
Now I just can’t look at any Twilight forums for a while (not that I do that), lest it be spoiled! 😛
AHHHHH!H!H!H!H!H!!!! I’m about to go and get my copy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! good bye. 🙂
there were actually girls that dyed contact lenses for their costumes(food coloring, i don’t think its like safe but oh well)lol the red looked really cool, and the ‘gold’ ones were a pretty cool light brown, one of them (red eyes)was saying it was kind of uncomfterable but the one with gold eyes said evrything was blurry oh well they seemed perfectly happy:) got to get back to reading! only on page 175, i keeping going on twilight sites! ack must get back to reading
I got my book at 12:30 and I just finished it (10:30). I did sleep 5 hours somewhere in there. It was *totally* different than I expected but definitely amazing! (and disturbing in spots too).
I went here and there was a countdown and everything. I stayed up until 4 am reading and now I’m back up again to FINISH it. lol. Then, MUST SLEEP.
I CAN’T enjoy Breaking Dawn, because it hasn’t come yet. But it has shipped! I got the Amazon email at 10:16 pm last night.
I did go to the release party, though. Since we had the books ordered on Amazon, my friend and I left at 11:30 as they started lining up, but it was pretty crazy. People dressed in prom clothes everywhere. There were even a couple guys in suits.
They took a poll “by the volume of your voice” on who should get Bella: Edward or Jacob. There were a few calls for Jacob and a lot of boos, but the whole place erupted for Edward.
It’s not a party story, but it’s a Breaking Dawn story.
I’m a youth librarian in a very small town … just how small?
Before work this morning, I ran to Wal-Mart, the closest place to snag a couple of copies. (Most libraries use Baker and Taylor … we’re odd.)
I walked in: no sign of breathless girls, screaming over their new Stephenie Meyer. In fact, no sign of the new Stephenie Meyer at all. When I asked where I might find Breaking Dawn, the associate gave me a blank stare. “What’s that?”
“A book. A new book that came out today.”
She shrugged and went to inquire of the manager, who went to rummage in the “back,” who finally emerged triumphant with a copy of Breaking Dawn!
“Oh,” I apologized, “I should have told you, I need two copies. They’re for the public library.”
She disappeared again, and a few minutes later appeared with another book. “You’re in luck,” she told me, smiling. “We bought two copies.”
Needless to say, that made me laugh pretty hard inside. Two whole copies for an entire town! 🙂 Lucky me.
I stayed up all night… but I was at my friend’s birthday party, and pretty much everyone there had never even HEARD of Twilight. Am I lame or what? My sister gets to read t, and then my mom, and then me. *is sad*
Hey Everyone!
So my expierence was AMAZING! I have lots of footage and pictures to share on youtube. I am the co-creator/Miss Monday for xXBreakingTwilightXx on YouTube! So check us out!
I had a funny expierence, it involves Chilli’s, Team Jacob, and Some random guy yelling “I hate Jacob Black” then taking off. yeah he better have ran!
lol
-B-
I was at a band party last night and half the people there left early just to go to the release party. I don’t think the Books-A-Million here in Kokomo had as many people there when Harry Potter came out :] I have to wait until Monday to get the book and I’m very sad about this :/
The book sucked. It has the plot of a really cheesy fanfiction. SM went against everything she’s said about Vampires. You could have ginen the characters differnt names and never have been able to tell that they were the characters. Again, IT SUCKED!!! I refuse to accept this book as part of the series. I am planning on burning it after I loan it out to all my friends, just so that they can suffer along with me.
Um, it was amazing. I loved it. The reaction here in DC was incredible, 600+ people at a Borders in Fairfax, VA. I was not the oldest person there, happily, and the sense of fun and community was great. Plus, I met some other Team Jaspers which was great!
Enjoy the books everyone! Remember, no spoilers on the web till we’ve all gotten a fair chance to read it!
Sarah,
I totaly understand your point… So,so,so disapointed over here… I think SM might have some problems with the next concerts…
i dont know how it happened,
but i ended up with four of my friends coming home with me after we got our copies.
bad idea.
five friends at one in the morning trying to read a book?
again bad idea.
but sooner or later we were able to calm ourselves down and read.
[one of my friends who is still reading eclipse, went to bed early]
while the rest of us have yet to sleep.
keep up the good work!! 😀
HAHA, at the Border’s that I went to for mine, there were girls dressed up as the volturi…one even had a cloak, and another one painted on a beard and moustache 😀 It was fun, but I was with my best friend, and we were numbers 203 and 204…We though it would take a while, so we left and came back at 1am..We were the last people to get the books! They announced the store closing right when we got in there! We were lucky we didn’t wait any longer than we did!
I didn’t wear anything crazy, just a black polka dot top.. I already have vampire eyes (I swear!), so i guess if I was a bit more pale and perfect, I could have passed for a Cullen, haha.
HECK YES, KALEB.
I HAVEN’T SLEPT SINCE 10:OO AM YESTERDAY.
WOOH.
i got my copy at 1:30 this morning.
i couldn’t stop.
oh my leh God.
ON TO PAGE 96.
D;
i need to read faster.
Woohoo!! I stayed up till 3am reading, which I know most people stayed up a lot later, but I knew I was going to have to wake up early (or so I thought) so I decided to stop then. But then I woke up this morning and I’ve been hiding in my room till like now reading! Haha, my mom thought I was cleaning my room but when she came in to seee if I really was she found me in bed reading Breaking Dawn and with the phone in my hand talking to my friend about a chapter (cus she was on the chapter I had just finished) haha, now I have to go clean………BUT I WANNA READ!!!!! 🙂
And the Breaking Dawn party was soo much fun! I loved seeing all my friends going crazy when it was 12:01! And we were soooo close to the front! But no one screamed when it was 12:01, well, except me and my friends, lol! But me and one of my friends couldnt stay still with excitment that we ran around Barnes and Noble all night!! And then me and my two friends I brought started reading there while my mom tryed getting a copy for one of her friends! Haha!! 🙂
In my teeny town there was about 25 of us that showed up at midnight just to purchase the book…it was alright nothing crazy the first thing my friend and I did was flip to the back to see if the spoilers were true (which they are) we screamed and swore (in the middle of the book store…oops) but I finished it and I’m a tad disappointed. The context of it was more for her older (twi mom) readers not us twi teens. Don’t let me ruin it for the rest of you tho, still amazing book 🙂 🙂 🙂
I didn’t attend any midnight release parties (too old to stay up all night), but I was up at breaking dawn and walked out of the 24 hour Walmart, just as the sun came up. I finished it at 1:30 this afternoon. I like it with reservations. Nothing like I expected though.
Holy crap. I stayed up until 2 AM reading the story! I got almost 100 pages into it (yay for me!)…
The party, I didn’t really stick around for. I got there late, around 11:30, just in time to catch the costume contest and to hear snippets of Team Edward bashing Team Jacob in a fierce debate (and vice versa, as well!)
They were selling so many other goodies, but alas, I did not have the money for them. So sad. I wanted the Twilight movie calender so bad… >.< I was the 163rd person to get the book. Our Borders ordered at least 600 copies! *does happy dance*
I pulled a 27 hour-er from 9 in the morning August 1 to noon today (august 2nd). It took about 2 two liters of Diet Coke, a pack of Trolli Sour Gummi Worms, and an IKEA Chocolate Bar (IKEA Sells chocolate!)!!!
I just finished Breaking Dawn. I just wanted to let you know that the book was a disappointment. I am a huge fan of the Twilight series, but this book has no place with the other 3.
ahahah! the first video is mine! thanks so much for posting it on your site. 😀 I was wondering how it got so many views in less than a day O.O
First, I pre-requested the book to the wrong location (forty minutes away), and they couldn’t guarantee me a copy, and I told some friends the wrong location too, so we didn’t get to meet, and my other friend and I waited anxiously for our copies and YAY they still had some by the time our numbers were called.
I also brought my cousin along to Barnes and Noble, and she bought Twilight. Now she’s halfway through the first, and I working steadily through the fourth, and we’re trying to see who’ll finish first, and she wants to return to the bookstore to get the next three.
YIPEE!
(and BD is great so far, had to take a break to eat, though)
i’m 100 pages in or so and i’m kinda freaked out. yipes.
I finished the book.
wowzers.
Just wait til you read it…. that’s all I can say.
I didnt even stop reading to eat at 7 this morning… I carried the book to the kitchen, got three slices of cold, leftover pizza [cold pizza is the best ever] and brought it back up stairs and continued reading.
Wow.
Corinne!
My mom (who never stays up for anything) wanted to go get the book with me, so we were going to go. Then my friend wanted to go too, and my sister. So the four of us piled into the car, drove to the bookstore and waited in line for about an hour.
It was worth the leg pains (I had been walking all day, between the zoo with a friend and babysitting two small children).
I’m almost done with the book so mom can read it.
My Breaking Dawn story is different. me, my sister, my best friend and her mom were waiting outside the bookstore, near the front of the line. We were all really excited. We got stickers, pins, chocolates and we got to do quizzes. There was also a draw to win t-shirts. There was a girl across the street who had just won a t-shirt. She ran across the street with her friend behind her. Then, all of a sudden, at 11:59, right before the book was released, the second girl running across got hit by a car! It was terrible. I was standing right there. It ws not a happy ending to a fun night.

I was at the concert series in NYC and it was the coolest thing EVER! Literally the best night of my entire life! Im already half way through the book, though I promised myself I would try not to finish it in one day!
oops. I’m sorry for the double post earlier. It was an accident.
I WISH I WAS THERE!!!!
I love the all the hype and the excitement for the long anlticipating moment for the release of Breaking Dawn.
Have you ordered your, Kaleb?

I had a great time last night! It was my first midnight release and me and my friends (there was like 12 of us) all went to a Barnes and Noble. It actually wasn’t that crowded, but we sat in the middle of an aisle and people kept turning around to walk the other way. We read each other’s palms and looked at the symbology of our dreames. It was so much fun. My favorite part of the night, though, was when a voice came over the loud speaker and said, “Would Jasper Cullen please report to the War History class?” It was so random!
The party was ROCKIN! I had my wrist “bitten” and I dragged my brother there too so he had his wrist “bitten” too. I heard it was a prom night so I wore my Jabbawockeez shirt with some tight pants. Turns out, there was only one other person dressed really random like me. A girl dressed up as a chicken. Oh and there was this one guy dressed up as Edward Cullen and I have to say, he was HOT.
There was a guy dressed up as the volturi!
I just needed to gloat a bit to people who would understand (unlike my family). I won the Twilight trivia at the release party I went to last night!!! They called me this morning and said that I won a gift card for the book store. The best part wasn’t the gift card though, it was the lady telling me that I won by a landslide, no one else even came close!!!
