TwilightGuys Report: Finally Convinced To Read Twilight

FINALLY CONVINCED TO READ TWILIGHT

One day a few months ago, my sister came downstairs from being shut up in her room for hours, reading. This was (is, and always will be) typical behaviour for her, as is spouting details from whatever book she happens to be reading. It is also MY typical behaviour to tell her how dumb every single book she reads is. She’s very into fantasy, whereas I am more into horror.

So she walks downstairs and starts blabbing to my mom (who was making dinner) about how she just got to Carlisle’s part, and WOW, was he awesome. So, of course, my automatic response was, “Carlisle is dumb.” She glared at me, and said, “You have NOTHING on Carlisle, let alone EDWARD.” And she sighed and stared into space.

I rolled my eyes and said, “I’m pretty sure I’m a hundred times better than EDWARD, whoever that is.”

After her hysterics had subsided, and she had gotten her breathing back to normal, she shook her head and told me,

“Trust me, if you were just as wonderful-perfect-caring-loving-awesome-magnificent-NOTTOMENTIONHOT! as Edward, you could get just about any girl on the face of the planet.”

Well, that piqued my interest. My sister didn’t usually fall in love with guys from books. She might say how awesome they were, but not like this. At the time, I just rolled my eyes and walked away. But my curiousity grew, and as she finished New Moon, and then Eclipse, I wanted to read them more and more. So I finally asked her if I could.

At first, she was suspicious. Why would I suddenly want to read a book that I spent HOURS insulting? It didn’t take her long to figure out the whole learn-the-tricks-from-Edward thing, but she did lend it to me. I have now finished New Moon and am halfway through Eclipse and LOVE them–and not for the info on how to get a girl. I really do think the Twilight series is amazing.”

  1. First post! Yay! Hahha I love this story [: Guys should definitely learn from Edward.

    DEFINITELY.

  2. Second!! That’s really cool 😀 And I agree with Grace: guys SHOULD learn from Edward. There’d be more love in the world ;D.

  3. Haha that’s awesome. And I like how the sister just laughs. That’s totally what I’d do too. Lol! =P

  4. I’m Third!!
    Haha… =P
It’s really funny to see how and why people read twilight. So, Edward is becoming some sort of teacher now??
    or just love advisor? lol.

  5. reminds me of my sister and i… I’m not kidding… She thinks its dumb… I told her to read it… then again she is the equivalant to having a little brother… oh well!

  6. My brother did that, then I finally convinced him to read them, and he read all 4 in a week. He won’t admit that he likes them, but he does.

  7. well, a lot of guys should learn from edward, but in my opinion,it is stupid to look up to fictional characters as role models. but regardless of that, guys really should be more like him. im happy he read the books and liked them! 🙂

  8. well, a lot of guys could learn from edward, but in my opinion it is foolish to look up to fictional characters as role models. but regardless of what i just typed, guys could learn how to treat women in a sensible way from him. i am happy that he read the books and liked them! 🙂

  9. I wish any one of the guys at my school were anything like Edward! There was one but he graduated! It sucks! He wasn’t interested in me anyways. Oh well. Maybe some of the guys changed over the summer! Maybe someone will now miraculously be like Edward now!

  10. haha, very nice
The Girls in my class blackmailed me into reading them, and so I did, being afraid all my deep dark secrets that I knew one of the girls knew (having known her for literally all my life).

I read all 3 (all that was out at the time) in 3 days, and had them reread by the next week.

    they are beastly books
    as is Edward

  11. roflmao good job, M.!

never underestimate a book that girls obsess about. in some ways, we’re not so different.
AKA: you might like these things too!

i still don’t get how some guys loooooooveeee Oprah and i don’t really…. whatever.

and if all guys were edward? wouldnt they become the norm? then wouldnt we look at them and say “ugh that guy is so normal and stupid and nice”.
its yin yang, no war, we never feel in peace, until our priorities are reversed…not that i like war, i hate it ,but…still kinda true.

i guess some guys are better off… i dont know what im talking about. edward’s awesome case closed. XD

  12. lol i convinced my boyfriend to read twilight because he constantly made fun of it. now, he makes fun of it even more…hmmm

  13. Thanks for the comments–and yeah, people can learn A LOT from Edward… unlike Jacob 0.0 . I tried to get my sister to read MY vampire books, but apparently they’re to “scary,” and according to her have the wrong vampire information. But she’s a little biased, so… but I’m going to stop ranting now :-X.

    Bye 😀

This totally sounds like me… totally in love w/ whatever book I'm reading at the time and gushing about it to my sisters. The great thing is, instead of my sisters telling me I'm stupid, we have hours long discussions about the books in-depth. Lovely nerd-fests.
