A guy reads Twilight by Stephenie Meyer (2009-2011)

TwilightGuys Report: He Discovered Twilight On Facebook

HE DISCOVERED TWILIGHT ON FACEBOOK

I’m a 20 year old guy, i live in Venezuela (that’s a country in the north of south america for the ones who have never heard of it) and i had never heard of Twilight until one night when I was going through the “bumper stickers” application of my Facebook account. I realized there were a bunch of stickers that talked about this “Edward Cullen” dude… they were everywhere you looked! They read things like “I have a hard time dealing with the fact that Edward Cullen is not a real person”, “New moon confessions: I skipped all the chapters without Edward in them” and so on…

Curiosity took over me and i decided to google this Edward. Was he a singer? Maybe an actor? And why on earth was he so important? The search eventually led me to Stephenie Meyer and her apparently famous-in-other-countries books. Having grown up a Harry Potter freak, this sounded like something had finally come that could fill the hole the series left. And NEVER in my search did I read anything about it being a book for girls.

So I got the book and started reading it and, just as anyone else, it just took a couple of chapters to get me hooked!

Somewhere around chapter 13 i thought “This is getting kind of girly but if it is a major bestseller then its gotta be worth it” and i was right, it WAS worth it! I finished Twilight, then MADE MY GIRLFRIEND READ IT and then started reading New Moon immediately.

It was a matter of time for us to find out there was a movie coming and so we thought “These books are SO good and now there’s a movie coming out at the end of the year. This is gonna be a huge phenomenon and we might be some of the first ones to have read it here in Venezuela, why isn’t anyone else reading them yet?”

Over the next few days we started recommending it to everyone we knew, male or female, and we found out some of them were already reading them. So yeah… some guys, just like me, thought it was a little too girly in some parts but we all agreed that was meant to happen with any book narrated from a girls point of view.

I’m a twenty year old male, I read the book first and THEN recommended it to MY GIRLFRIEND, and now all my friends (GUYS AND GIRLS) are reading it and enjoying it!”
