As I near the final few chapters, the time has come to pick the song for New Moon!
As we did for Twilight, everyone will be picking the song that BEST FITS WITH THE ENTIRE NOVEL as a whole. Songs have been an enormously important part of each post, so it only follows that for the Epilogue, the ending of New Moon, we should have a special one that truly closes the story — as picked by Twilighters from around the world!
The voting will take place in two parts: the first will be suggesting songs, for one week, and then the second will be voting from the top ten most suggested. You can nominate up to three songs per person, and can also choose songs that were already used for chapter posts — use the form below to start sending them in!
I will be posting the most voted for song when I write on the Epilogue, with my final thoughts on the book. Have fun voting!

Wow the third to comment! Excitment. I picked Blackout sun by soundgarden. Manly because i picture edward in italy throughout the song.
I chose The Scientist by Coldplay. I think the tone of the song really suits New Moon and also the lyrics really match it as well 😀
I chose Earthquake by The Used,
I think it really captures the whole book from Edwards point of view at least. From how Bella reacted to hm leaving, to him trying to fix it when he came back, asking if she still loved him.

i submitted three because i couldnt decide. i picked pressure by paramore, all around me by flyleaf, and vulnerable by secondhand serenade. cant really explain why, i just think of new moon whenever i hear these songs. does anyone agree with my picks?
I choose one for each of the three characters(Bella – Frozen by Within Temptation, Edward – Sing For Absolution” by Muse; Jacob – Maybe I’s Just Me by Butch Walker); it was really hard to decide. I can’t wait to see wich other songs had been submitted!
jeez its so hard to chose songs! but eventually I chose Patience by Take That. Basically like no ones heard that song before, but if you listen to it, it fits so well to New Moon…can’t wait till u read eclipse!
I picked That’s What You Get by Paramore. It seemed kind of like how Bella’s feeling all throughout the book. Edward leaves; she’s heart broken. She falls for Jacob some. And then Edward comes back, therefore making her confusion greater. So yeah, “that’s what you get when you let your heart win.” Lyrics seem compatable =]
i have chose “Wild Horses” by The Sundays (orginally by the rolling stones) It fits perfect for new moon.
Comatose by Skillet will aways be my New Moon song. It fits perfectly with what Edward is going through all during the book. Awesome song, check it out if you’ve never heard of it.
Everything You Want by Vertical Horizon. I think it explains Bella’s relationship with Jacob and with the absent Edward in New Moon perfectly.
I picked “The Older I Get” by Skillet. It pretty much summed up the book for me, if not the entire series. Check it out if you don’t know what it is.
Also, it was only a matter of time before Dragoat would seranade Bailey. Great video! 🙂

I picked Near to You by A Fine Frenzy, a song that has also been picked as a chapter song. Think it represents Bella’s feelings for Jake in New Moon perfectly.
I picked Bring Me to Life by Evanescence. There are two songs by Flyleaf that I think fit, I’m Sorry (ends with the singer saying, “I’m done healing.”) and Sorrow (ends with the scream, “Joy will come!”)

Well, I picked one from the actual playlist that Stephenie has, and it’s one of my favorites. ‘Sound of Pulling Heaven Down’ by Blue October. I thought that it really matched up, and that it got down to the heart of things. But that’s just me.
i went for hate me by blue october. i thought that it really went with edwards side of the story… im suprized more people havent mentioned it.

I nominated two songs by Yellowcard, Only One and Light Up the Sky, because a) I love them and b) (and slightly more relevantly) the lyrics fit perfectly.
Only One I think fits perfectly Edward’s feelings for Bella and how he feels that she is so fragile, he should leave so she can find someone better for her but how she truly is his only love.
Light Up the Sky is Jacob asking Bella to give him a chance and it is doubly appropriate because he wants to Light Up the Sky for her, and she always calls him her sun. It also talks about how far she has come with a broken heart, which is her after Edward left, and even has a line “they’ll just watch you die” which is very appropriate given that he views Bella changing as her dying.
I choose “Unwell” by Matchbox Twenty and “Hate Me” by Blue October. Because the first is perfect for for Bella and the second allways makes me almost cry when Justin sings: “And then she wispered How can you do this to me” I swear it ALLWAYS brings tears to my eyes
I chose Katy Perry’s Thinking of You, which was the ‘Paris’ chapter song, because it touches on the role of all three characters. I also voted for Erin McCarley’s Pitter Pat. This isn’t a rough or edgy song, as many of our beloved Twilight inspired songs are but it is very bittersweet, which seems to be a major theme in NM. It is also a little slow and numbing, and that is how I see Bella in NM … no matter how risky she gets, emotionally low, irrational, or heart broken over Edward leaving and Jacob changing she isn’t ever completely “there.” You can hear the full song on her Myspace.
I sent in “Whatever It Takes” by Lifehouse. Here’s a bit of the lyrics:

My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE is “Storm” by Lifehouse. It really captures Bella’s perspective throughout the book. It embodies a terrific correlation to being in or under water and feeling like you can’t make it anymore. If you happen to search for the song on Youtube, find the acoustic version! It is sung in such a heartbreaking and heartfelt way!! This is my FAVORITE for New Moon. Very, very, very good!

i sent in Better Than Me (hinder) go listen to it! it is THE edward song of New Moon! i also did Paramore (couldnt decide between Pressure or Thts Wat you Get) and Save You (Simple Plan…go canada!) this is fun 🙂 love this part!
My pick is “Star-Crossed” by Scary kids Scaring Kids. It really fits the story well….

This is essentially what edward keeps asking bella to do, even if it isn’t what he wants.
I don’t know I’m suggesting several songs for New Moon this one a tuff one since in New Moon there are so many emotions in it

Whoo! Long time reader, first time commenter. I suggested Patience (Take That) and The Scientist (Coldplay) too. But my first choice was ‘The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot’ by Brand New. It’s from Steph’s playlist and it stuck with me. It’s awesome! And it’s from Edward’s POV.

I was thinking about “what hurts the most” by cascada, i know it’s actually from rascal flatts but because it’s from bella’s point of view cascada fits better. That song is just perfect when he leaves! and she has to deal with that and th shool is just borring and she doesnt understands why that happened!
Although “lips of an angel” by Hinder, when edward sees bella in italy and he thinks hes in heaven! aww so cute!
I totally agree with HeidiMarie’s choice of No Air by Jordin Sparks & Chris Brown. I was having trouble deciding what song to pick, but I saw No Air and I like, Oh my God! That song is PERFECT!!! So I chose it, too. In New Moon Bella literally says that being away from Edward is like not being able to breath. The whole mood of the book is kind of like this song.
I picked one of my favourites: If You Only Knew by Shinedown.
I like the lyrics and I think it’s somewhat suitable for New Moon.

I think that THE SCIENTIST BY COLDPLAY IS THE PERFECT SONG!!! It fits the book as a whole, and has the right tempo for the book too!!!

I picked the song Lapse by Envy On The Coast because honestly I can’t even hear any partof that song without thinking of New Moon and there are parts that just fit so well. There was no way I could resist nominating it. Sample lyric:

I submitted Dear God by Avenged Sevenfold. I think it is absolutely perfect.
Though it would be perfect-er if Edward had taken the pictures from Bella because of the line “pictures and some memories will have to help me through.”
And I think the “Dear God” thing kind of fits with Edward’s religious views. (Dear God, the only thing I ask of you is to hold her when I’m not around, when I”m much too far away.”

I picked Changes by Yes. It really goes through the dynamic ending of the book
“Almost Lover” by A Fine Frenzy. I’m super suprised noone has suggested this one yet!
I suggested three.
“Savior” by 30 Seconds to Mars (the absolutely perfect one, in my opinion); “Stand My Ground” by Within Temptation; and, “The Secret’s In The Telling” by Dashboard Confessional.
I choose Broken by Amy Lee and Seether. I think it just describes the way they feel throughtout the book.
