As I near the final few chapters, the time has come to pick the song for New Moon!
As we did for Twilight, everyone will be picking the song that BEST FITS WITH THE ENTIRE NOVEL as a whole. Songs have been an enormously important part of each post, so it only follows that for the Epilogue, the ending of New Moon, we should have a special one that truly closes the story — as picked by Twilighters from around the world!
The voting will take place in two parts: the first will be suggesting songs, for one week, and then the second will be voting from the top ten most suggested. You can nominate up to three songs per person, and can also choose songs that were already used for chapter posts — use the form below to start sending them in!
I will be posting the most voted for song when I write on the Epilogue, with my final thoughts on the book. Have fun voting!

The ultimate New Moon songs for me are “My Immortal” and “Going Under” by Evanescence. “My Immortal” gives me goosebumps and reminds me of Bella’s life when Edward left her. “Going Under” is perfect for her dangerous actions and cliff diving.
I suggested Broken by Lifehouse I think it works for Bella, Edward and Jacob 🙂

Oh man… So many choices.
But here are my final three.
1. Frozen, by Within Temptation.
It’s all about leaving someone for their own good, even though it nearly destroys you to do it, and you don’t even know if it will work, you can only hope… So Edward.
2. No Air, by Jordin Sparks (feat. Chris Brown)
How two people can’t live without each other, and not for lack of trying. Really fits both Edward and Bella.
3. My Immortal, by Evanescence
This one factors in poor Jacob, and the healing that Bella is going through, even leaving Jacob for Edward again.
So I got all three main characters. I think they fit, but we shall see…
It almost seems like there should be two songs for the book? One would be for Bella and the complicated feelings of Edward leaving and becoming close with Jacob. The other would be for Edward returing and everything that his return brought- hope for the two of them, and his sincere attempts at trying to make it up to her….
I chose Hoodoo by Muse, because I think the lyrics suit perfectly Edward POV and how he wants to be with Bella but still leaves her for her own good…

I voted for “The Scientist” by Coldplay as well…Like someone said, the tempo fits really well with New Moon, as well as the lyrics. And it’s just an amazing song.
I think all of our suggestions are amazing! (Us Twilighters are good xD).
There’s something about “My Immortal” by Evanescence that I really like though. It’s like the verses are Bella talking, and the chorus is Edward talking. It would play out like…

Anyway, these are all great suggestions, it’s so hard to choose.
I think Katy Perry’s song Thinking of You is the perfect song for NM. It was already used as a chapter song. Read the lyrics and you’ll see how fitting this song is for this book; it covers Bella, Edward, and Jacob.

I submitted “The Mixed Tape,” by Jack’s Mannequin, and “Slipped Away,” by Avril Lavigne. “The Mixed Tape,” is like an extended metaphor for how Bella feels after Edward leaves. “Slipped Away” is just perfect, and captures that whole feeling of losing someone you really love, and not seeing it coming.

This book is hard for me to come up with songs for. Eclipse is so much easier. But That’s What You Get fits with Bella and Jacob both. Blackout is for when Edward leaves Bella in the woods. My Immortal just seems to fit the mood. Idk. Aim, Snap Fall fits with Bella I think. Alexithymia fits really well with Bella’s zombie state. She just doesn’t want to get up and live, but she knows that she’s not living at all. “With down cast eyes, there’s more to living than being alive…” is the main line in Alexithymia, and that fits so well with Bella. Sadly, I can’t really think of anything that fits with Jacob for New Moon…but when Eclipse roles around, I will definitely have some!

The song “Love Remains the Same” by Gavin Rossdale? I think it fits perfectly for New Moon. I can see it playing out as a movie in my head….

That is my assessment. And no matter what anyone says, whenever I hear it, that’s what I think of. But what do you think?
Linkin Park or Screamo is good for the scene where Edward leaves and it begins to rain etc. Well, basically after he leaves and she’s trudging through the forest part. But I chose “Won’t go home without you” by Maroon 5.

I feel as if most of the book is centered around Bella’s pain, and these songs show that perfectly.
I did a somehwat obvious but great song. Comatose by Skillett. When you read the lyrics its almost telling the story of New Moon

random, not to edgy song, but the lyrics somewhat go, and the instrumental part when it goes all loud is when I see bella jumping off the cliff or racing against time to saveedward

how about Save Me by Remo Zero? the lyrics aren’t exactly PERFECT, but i think the mood of the song is. no doubt. for anyone who’s never heard it, it’s the smallville opening song. classic.
I chose When Your Gone by Avril Lavigne , Pressure by Paramore, Something I Can Never Have and All Around Me both by Flyleaf, and Untouched by The Veronicas. Those are really good songs and they would fit in my opinion…. Anyone think so? I’m listening to Never Let This Go by Paramore I think i’ll enter that too.
