TwilightGuys Report: TwilightDad Reads Books By Telephone

TWILIGHTDAD READS BOOKS BY TELEPHONE

“For those who think they are the only Twilight Guys out there, I’m here to say that it’s just not true. Although I have yet to hear of any guy picking up the books of his own volition, there are plenty of us who have now read the books at the suggestion, recommendation, demand, ultimatum, or threat of physical violence from our lovely better halves. There are just very few of us who would ever admit it publicly. I myself am a father of 5 children who, just a few months ago became a single father of 5 children when my dear wife picked up the Twilight Series and became lost to the world for a few months (she has thankfully returned from the dead recently, at least until the next book comes out).

I think it was sometime during her second time through the books when she suggested that I give them a try. More out of sheer puzzlement than actual interest, I cracked open the first book and wouldn’t you know it, I got sucked in. So much so that when I went on a business trip the next week and took the book with me, only to finish it within a day or two, I actually called my wife up and had her read to me from the next book over the phone because I was too impatient to wait till I got back home. Pathetic, I know.. ”

  4. There’s a kid at my school who picked up the book of his own free will. I don’t know if he’s finished it…I think he got suspended or went to juvy for possession of drugs…

  5. Wow. I wished my family could be as addicted to Twilight as I am. They think it’s a phase. But, no!

Don’t worry, I’ll threaten them to read it soon enough.

  10. Cute. 🙂 That is so sweet. He is not pathetic! I know how he feels, after I finished Twilight my mom wouldn’t take me to tehe book store. I didn’t get it till a couple days after Christmas. I had to wait about two or three weeks before I could read New Moon! 🙁 Stephenie Meyer books are awesome!!!!! 🙂

    Stevie was here

  11. Oops! I spelled TAKE wrong, I spelled TEHE instead! Anyway, Ijust had to add that. 🙂

    Stevie was here, again

  12. I think we are all a little pathetic when it comes to Twilight. When I first learned of the book, I read through the first chapter and it took quite some time for my classmate to pry it from my hand so she could continue reading it herself (she as amazingly kind and patient enough to lend it to me when she hadn’t even finished, something I doubt I could have done). The next day when she had finished and leant it to me again, I got in trouble plenty of times with my teachers for paying far to much attention to the book than to their lessons. Ha! Imagine, getting in trouble for reading in school. I was half tempted to stuff the book in my bag and hope that my friend forgot about it so I would not have to return it and halt reading. I was not so lucky, and I guess karma caught up with me when she came to school the next day and told me she’d FORGOTTEN the book at home. To put it simply, I cried to myself and went into a depression that lasted untill the next day when (after several calls to her house to remid her to bring it) she remebered to bring it to school and I finished the book, only to be even more starved to read more.

All in all, I wish MY own dad would take the time to sit down and read Twilight. But hes your typical guy, as most guys are, and would sooner put on lipstick than read a book like Twilight.

  13. AW… i luv this, twilight is the best!!! and its great that it can b appreciated by everyone, not only 14 year old girls lol, but GO TWILIGHT~!!!

  14. That is so great! I love it!
(My dad is the father of 5 too… But he’d never open one of the books!)
