The song for this chapter is Mr. Brightside by PlayRadioPlay
[audio:https://twilightguy.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/mrbrightside.mp3]
I don’t think I’ve ever been happier to be feeling well! Even though it’s only really been a few days, I’m one of those people who has to be doing something all the time or else feels they’ve lost touch with everything, and thus being sick in bed for nearly a week is quite a depressing time for me. Not only am I now feeling better, but with only one more final to go, a few months of break from school is just around the corner for me. And what a summer break it shall be!
With what could perhaps be the longest chapter title in Twilight Saga history, we once again enter into that strange brain of Jacob Black. I love the fact that I get to delve into Jacob’s head a bit. Many people have probably noticed how much Jacob’s immaturity irks me, sometimes to the point of paragraphs of rants detailing exactly why he annoys me and how I think he should evict himself headfirst off the nearest cliff (alright not quite that bad). Still, I welcome the chance to get to know him more. Like The Phantom in his opera, there are some characters who seem quite despicable at first, but after I get to know them my opinions change dramatically. We shall see if something similar happens with Mr. Black.
These werewolves sure like to fight. I feel like my grandmother waggling a finger at them and going
as they punch and lunge at each other over hardly more than a bag of chips and a chair. Due to this behavior, there is an almost constant theme of things being smashed throughout the beginning of this chapter, such as:
“You better’ve brought those with you.” CRUNCH.
He heard where I was going and shoved the bag behind his back. CRUNCH.
Maybe he’d smashed her like a bag of chips in his drive to get some? (CRUNCH.)
His eyes shifted to the TV. I lunged. His nose made a very satisfying CRUNCH.
Jacob obviously isn’t in love with the idea of imprinting either. It leads me to wonder if this is because he didn’t actually imprint on Bella, and might have known all along that because of this she couldn’t have really been his? I’ve seen this point argued before and I know there is a very specific reason why this doesn’t matter, but I’ve always wondered why Jacob pursued Bella so strongly when he hadn’t imprinted on her. With a lack of imprinting, his love for her wouldn’t actually be the best love for either of them — and as a very unsettling thought, he might imprint on someone else in the future and leave Bella behind. It’s always confused me. Did Jacob think that after time he would imprint on Bella? Again this could be my faulty memory fooling me when the reason for this was made obvious volumes ago, and everyone on Team Jacob is laughing uproariously at my expense.
Jacob is still very concerned for Bella, and it’s obvious that even after the wedding, he still isn’t giving up on that tiny bit of hope she’ll realize what she is doing and come back to him. Because, everyone knows it is far safer being with a werewolf than a vampire. That point aside, his brooding has surely gotten quite painful, especially imagining Bella and Edward together now. I mean, in most relationships, there are months between breaking up with someone and then her getting married to someone else, which means time away from each other to heal. Jacob hasn’t gotten that, because he never gave up, even to the day of the wedding. It would be misery if the girl I loved went off and got married to someone else, leaving me with little besides some guy sitting on my couch…watching my television…eating my chips.
Mr. Black is really a killjoy too, by the way. I’m laughing immensely that his first reaction to Paul’s guffaw is considering breaking his nose again. He’s like the Burgermeister Meisterburger, who tripped on one toy and then decided to burn the lot in a fit of rage.
Disregarding what could have just been my most obscure movie reference ever, the conversation with Quil has me wondering if Jacob has ever thought he actually did imprint on Bella? He says he doesn’t see any other girl, and he seems so sure that they are meant to be together. He might know differently, but I wonder if it has ever made him really think. It would be very difficult for him if he had imprinted on her, when she just married Edward Cullen. If imprinting really is something they can’t control, Jacob might actually be in a better position now if he doesn’t imprint on her, because otherwise it could get very messy.
With the news of Bella’s return to Forks, there seems to be some decision-making going on. The werewolves aren’t quite up to a full-out battle, but Jacob Black is ready to take on the Cullens all by himself. One wolf against a coven of vampires? Oh yes Jacob, you’re really going to survive that one. Still, with all his determination to get revenge for what he believes is Bella’s death, there’s something akin to a miniature war that might be about to happen.
QUESTION FOR THE COMMENTS: If Jacob HAD imprinted on Bella, how do you think the story would have changed? Do you think Bella would have still married Edward? Would Edward have fought Jacob or would he have let her go?

theres a longer chapter name LOL. if jacob impritedon bella EVERYTHING would have been different. i think bella would have ended up with jacob and edward wouldnt have faught jacob cuz he would understand she's completely untouchable in jacobs arms. but she probly would have still been intreged by edward. who knows what would have happened?
Yei! first one! lol, I loved Jacob´s point of view, it was a nice change, although I would love to read what happened when Bella arrived to the airport and protected her child with Rose….it should be interesting to read…LOVE YOU Kaleb!
i hope it would be the same.
it would suck big time if it wasn't.
i don't think that bella would have changed her mind even if jacob had imprinted on her.
they say it's hard to ignore that kind of devotion, but those imprintees never had edward's level of devotion fixed on them. maybe for someone like claire, who's grown up with a werewolf around, it would have been a no-brainer. but i think that bella still would have chosen edward and jacob would have just had a harder time accepting it all.
maybe that's just my wishful thinking, but.. /shrug.
hahh just wanted to say OMG BURGERMISTER ahahah
that is my favortie holiday movie of all time and probably the best referance everrrr
“…otherwise it could get very messy.” Could? Just wait…it will be messy enough.
As for Jacob imprinting on Bella, I don't think even imprinting at this stage could make him much more devoted to her and she still chose Edward, so I would see the story remaining nearly the same (at this point) except with possibly even more pain for both Jacob and Bella.
Burgermeister? HAHAHA!!! Love that.
Ok, I believe discovering part of Jakes mind was an incredebly part of the whole saga. I enjoyed it so much. Is one of the reasons i am Team switzerland when it comes to who Bella should choose. Cause i am like OME everysingle time i just hear the perfect man´s name. So if i have to choose between Edward and Jacob i would choose the God absolutely.
I think if Jacob had imprint on Bella, Jake and Bella would end up together no doubt. But she would always feel the guilt, like Sam whit Leah; she would have never forgot herself. And Edward´s life would have been total missery… and nun of us would like that… If he only knew there would have been half a planet of woman interested in his well being… But oh well it is set on stone. By the way LOVE YOU KALEB… Catch you tomorrow in the BLOG you rock!!!!!!!!!
I think Edward would have fought Jacob if Bella didn't want Jacob.
And I'm not so sure if Bella would still marry Edward..
But the story would be better if she didn't (: HA.
I love Jacobs Chapter Names
As much as I love Bella and Edward together.I think that if Jacob had imprinted on Bella it would have turned out differently. Imprinters and Imprintees are absulotley meant to be together, look at Emily and Sam and the stuff they went through with Leah and Sam losing control yet they are still together. Edward would have let Bella go if she wanted to be with Jacob. It would have really hurt him but he wants her happy and if he had to be apart from her for that to happen he would have done that.
If Jacob had imprinted on Bella, that would have meant she was his true love. Bella would have been designed for Jacob, in a way. They would have been together.
If Bella was Jacob's true love, she would have felt more strongly about Jacob than Edward… and Edward, being the gentleman, would have let her go. Probably. In theory.
… and then all the screaming fangirls would have swooped in and gone 'PICK ME, EDWARD!'
… and then Edward would go to the Volturi begging for death once again.
Yeah.
In my head, there wasn't even a possibility of Jacob imprinting on Bella. I am Team Edward all the way, so I would rather not picture Jacob and Bella being together. I think Bella would've married Edward anyway and Edward would've fought if he had to, to win Bella back.
btw, I love Jacob's chapter titles. They are so funny. 😛
Keep reading Kaleb!
well i dont know how it would end i think that if edward had to he would let bella go. he loves her that much. but if that happened… ruin the whole and i mean whole story
The imprinting business definitely gets messy. From my understanding, Jacob pursued Bella so strongly, despite not imprinting, because he thought he was never going to imprint. The werewolf lore they knew indicated that imprinting was actually fairly rare. Not all, or even most, werewolves would ever imprint. They were just on their own.
Okay, not too late this time. Phew.
Oh, jeez. Nice version of Mr Brightside. It sounds vaguely like Hellogoodbye.
Don't you worry, the chapter titles get much, much longer. Jacob's POV chapter titles are the best. How cool was the Preface?
Well, had he imprinted, it would have to have been the first time he saw her after phasing. So… that time when she went to his house to confront him, right? Thing is, Edward was gone. So, had he imprinted, there wouldn't have been that fight, she would've been told everything, and, more likely than not, Edward would have returned to Forks only to either leave again or torture himself with the idea that he has to hang around to protect her from… everything.
But say he didn't imprint on her then. Let's consider the possible outcome of the Cullens never leaving and him imprinting on her. I think Edward would know he should let her go, but neither would want to. Bella would indeed love Jake more if she was his imprint, but she would still love Edward and be dating him at that moment. And then there's Edward. Lots of people are saying that he would let her go, or that he would fight for her, but, really, I just can't choose. And that's the issue here. He is as selfish as he claims, despite Bella's disputes, so I don't know if he could give her up. However, he values her happiness more than his own. Still, it's fairly even. On the plus side, there is no wrong or right. Nothing is out of character, because, as I've mentioned in a past comment, people act out of character, making any and all actions in character.
That took me a long time. I'm off to watch Futurama.
I knew something was odd when Jacob didn't imprint on Bella. If Jacob would have imprinted on Bella, the story would not have changed. I don't believe the imprint would have changed Bella's love for Edward. Bella was in love with Edward even though he left her. That's why she kept hearing Edward's voice and continued to do dangerous stunts in order to continue to hear Edward. Bella was interested in Edward from day one. Edward was hooked at first scent.
IF Jacob did imprint and Bella was in love with Jacob, Edward would not have fought Jacob for Bella. Edward just wanted Bella to be happy.
It's hard to say what would happen.
It's said that it would be nearly impossible to ignore the attention and devotion of an imprinting werewolf, but Edward is already completely devoted to her in much the same way, and maybe even more, considering that he wasn't forced into it by imprinting. If Jacob had imprinted on Bella after Edward leaves, it might have made her even more confused and depressed. She feels she will always love Edward, no matter what, she's still healing, she may never heal. The story doesn't go into that. She might not have been able to take the affection that Jacob gives, compared to the affection she lost. I don't think she would be completely satisfied.
Edward told Bella that he would have had to come back at some point. He wasn't strong enough to stay away for much longer. If he had seen her with Jacob and she still wasn't completely happy, he would have given her the option. I don't think she would have refused him. She could never forget him.
If Jacob had imprinted on Bella, Edward would do what Bella wanted. If she decided on Jacob, he would understand. As he said, he would have stayed just close enough, and if she decided she had made a mistake, he would come back.
If she decided on Edward, I'm sure there would be a fight, mostly Jacob, Edward reluctantly. Bella would try to get between them. She loves them both and doesn't want either of them to get hurt or die.
Edward want's to defend Bella, but he can't hurt Jacob without hurting her as well. Edward would be stuck in a very difficult situation. Edward and Bella could run away but Jacob would follow them.
All in all, I can't think of anything good to say and I didn't really give a definitive answer to anything. Maybe there isn't one.
I'd just like to say that I'm happy that Jacob didn't imprint on Bella.
Firstly (is that a word?) because I'm a big Team Edwarder.
Secondly, look at what could happen!
Yeah,
“Life sucks and then you die,
I should be so lucky.”
I hope I got that one right, it was off the top of my head.
You see, Jacob CAN'T imprint on Bella, because she's “imprinted” on Edward, like, they're meant for each other. But if Jacob had imprinted on Bella, that would mean that love between Bella and Edward isn't so true… Well that's what *I* think.
Sometimes I'm so mad at Jacob it makes me cry. :DD
Edward and Bella are meant to be together. Soulmates for life. Their love is exactly like imprinting, or maybe even stronger. If he were to imprint on her, all that would happen is that Jake would fight harder, but Bella's love with Edward would be too strong for her to end up with him.
She might love Jacob more than she did at first, but not more than she loves Edward. Their love is stronger than anyone else's.
I believe it was, “Yeah, I should be so lucky.” I have it written on my pencil case. No idea who wrote it, though. 😀
But the rules change with imprinting. You can't love anyone more than your imprint. Even a vampire. 😉
I think if Jacob had imprinted on Bella then she would have still married Edward. the difference i believe is that maybe Jacob would have been quieter about her choosing Edward. When someone imprints didnt JAcob say they jsut want them to be happy and they would be whatever that person needed…friend…father figure…lover etc. If he knew she would be happy only with Edward maybe he would have tried harder to be just her friend becuase otherwise she would be unhappy and doesn't that go against what imprinting does to the werewolf?
I think the story would have totally changed. Even if Bella and Edward are meant to be together (and even if I'm 100% Team Edward), I don't think Bella would have married Edward. Because as it is said in New Moon, or maybe in Eclipse (I can't actually remember, shame on me), girls who have been imprinted by one of the wolf can't barely resist to such a level of devotion. Moreover, Bella does have feelings for Jacob, right? I believe the reason she doesn't end up with Jacob is that this latter didn't imprint on her.
Concerning Edward's reaction, he said many times before that as long as Bella needed him, he would stay with her. He said too that if Bella decided to choose Jacob, he would agree to this choice. So Edward wouldn't have fought. He would have let her because he loves her. Actually, the situation would have been reversed: Edward would have suffered (and probably killed himself), but he wouldn't have been as immature as Jacob (;
-Kpucine
P.S: sorry for my English, as usual (:
If Jake had imprinted on Bella it would be quite interesting. I believe Bella would fall in love with Jacob as well.
Some people are saying that Edward wouldn't try to win back Bella. I think he would. He always states that he is selfish at heart. If Edward is what he says he is, he would try to win Bella back. I wouldn't like the idea of my mortal enemy being with the girl who he is in love with.
I have to say I disagree with that.
If Jacob imprinted his love for Bella would be even stronger than it is now.
He would be totally against Edward marrying Bella and changing her. Having his imprintee being turned into his mortal enemy doesn't sound like something Jake would accept easily.
Also, if he did imprint Jacob would know that he can make her happy. She would be Jacob's life. There's no way that Edward could compete with the strength of an imprint's love. Jacob would do everything he could to make Bella happy and he would succeed.
I'm pretty sure that Bella wouldn't want a best friend alone from Jacob. I mean she already loved him in Eclipse when he had not imprinted on her. Like it is said it's hard to resist that level of adoration. Whether she wanted to or not she would begin to fall in love with Jacob and would want Jake to reciprocate the feelings.
If Jacob would have imprinted on Bella, it would have been after he first changed into a werewolf. In that case, he wouldn't have been able to be so mean when Bella came looking for him.
If he did imprint then, I imagine Bella would have fallen for such devotedness. But there would still be that Edward-void. Things would be wayy too sticky and complicated. Jacob imprinting on Bella would have been a HORRIBLE idea.
But, anyway, it's all moot. Jacob will never imprint of Bella, now. If he didn't imprint before, there is no way he will imprint now…
EEWWWWW!!!!
If Jacob imprinted on Bella that would kill the book!! Dont get me wrong i love Jacob but i think the story would end after that. Edward would hurt anything that Bella loves — hes to nice, he would let it be. he wouldn't show Bella that it killed him to let her go but hes not the type of person that would distory her happiness — he cares to much about her.
BBBUUUUUTTTTT. . . . . . . .
i think it could go both ways! Bella cant live without Edward, Her life is all about him and i dont think so would give that up soo easy. she cant be with both of them but i think she would try! she CAN live without Jacob but she CANT live without Edward! But imprinting is a powerful thing so. . . . i think if could go both ways but i dont want it to go Jacobs!
I think the chapter titles in this part of the book are fabulous!! Made me like Jake again – to see his weird sense of humor.
And Mr. Brightsides is the perfect song for this chapter!!!
Now – the question…I don't think Jake could imprint on Bella. She had already been 'imprinted' on by a vampire (well, the vampire equivalent of an imprint…). She was already someone else's other half, whether they were together or not. Fate was being kind to Jacob!
I really can't wait to see your reaction to the next chapter!!! Things get really interesting. The book gets decidedly darker in tone from here thru Jake's POV.
Oh, and I'm glad you are feeling better!! I just got over my own case of not-the-swine-flu!! I feel for you!
If Jacob imprinted on Bella… well, it wouldn't happen. Because all the other werewolves imprinted on people from the Quileute tribe, to “make stronger werewolves”. If we are looking at this without the imprinting, Jacob never would have gotten to know Bella, or fallen in love with her, had not Edward left Bella. And Bella wouldn't have needed Jacob's support when Edward left her, unless she was unalterably connected to Edward. So, Jacob should have never hoped. Bella made her choice, subconsciously, the day Edward left her.
Its impossible for me to answer this question objectively because I know how everything works out.
BTW wasn't that song originally done by the killers? I like the killers one better, and I was confused as to why it was done by someone else.
Well, your still disregarding one fact.
Bella loves Edward with almost every fiber in her being. Choosing between Edward and Jacob would be obvious.
The imprinting thing could be different. Take example of the werewolf who imprinted on a 2 year old. He loves claire just like a little sister, or best friend. Maybe Jacob (if he imprinted on Bella) would learn to except that and be her best friend like Bella hoped for in the first place. By the time for Jacob to become a werewolf and imprint, it would have already been too late.
Also, it would ruin the end of the story. 🙂
THANK YOU STEPHENIE MEYER!
Oh the joys of Jacob! Personally, this part dragged on to me. I guess it's cuz I hate Jacob.
Anywho…
Bella would probably be with Jacob if he had imprinted on her. Edward would probably wanna kick his butt! LOL! Yeah… Jacob and Bella do NOT belong together! Of course, that's just my opinion.
Kaleb, there is even a LONGER chapter….LOL!
I think that Jacob would think that Bella, IS, his true love for the rest of his life. But still, I think he would have to question the fact if he REALLY loves her. Yes, it probably make a big impact on the saga. I don't think edward would fight him. Killing him or fighting him would just make Bella depressed…AGAIN FOR THE 4TH TIME! LOL. And she wouldn't want to be with edward because of that fact, because bella loves jacob as a friend, and nothing more will change it.
I don't really think there could be an 'if Jake imprinted on Bella' thing because imprinting means you're meant to be with someone. And although I love Jake, He's not meant to be with Bella. 'cos if he was, Bella would be meant to be with him. And she's niot, 'cos her and Ed are meant to be together…
That's an amazingly strange theory considering that I don't believe in fate…
Im going to be doing some quoting from Eclipse, but I dont have my book with me, so excuse any mistakes, please.
If Jacob were to have imprinted on Bella, she still would have been with Edward. My first reason is, even when Bella'd never ever heard of imprinting or werewolves or supernatural soulmates for life or all that nonsensical, confuzzling wonderfulness, and all she knew was that Jacob was in love with her and Edward wasn't there, she didn't want to be in love with him, didn't want to be his friend that way. Do you really think that if she found out he loved her because he was a werewolf, it would change he perspective of willingness to abandon Edward, even if Edward was no longer in her life? The second reason is because of these quotes here:
“It is strange to observe the way Sam is tied to his Emily, or I should say her Sam. It's nearly as powerful as the way I feel about you.” Edward Cullen to Bella Swan, Eclipse
“I supposed it was silly for me to imagine that Sam had never loved anyone before Emily. It was just that I'd seen Sam with Emily, and I couldn't imagine him with someone else. The way he looked at her… well it reminded me of a look I'd seen sometimes in Edward's eyes – when he was looking at me.” Bella Swan, Eclipse.
You see, Edward loves Bella as very much as an imprinted werewolf loves his imprintee. More than that, even. And so it would be a moot point for Bella, because then she would have two equally-in-love-with-her options to choose from. So really not much would change. And also, if Jake was to imprint on her, he would and would have to give her what she wanted and let her choose who she wanted, and he would not be able to fight it because doing so would then hurt her, and his entire being would have shied away from that so powerfully that he would rater die than hurt her, whether purposely or accidentally. And I would also like to remind you people that imprinting is not always romantic.
Now, on to the Edward fighting Jacob thing. He would have let her go if she chose Jacob. Read this conversation from Eclipse:
JACOB: What would you do if she changed her mind?
EDWARD: I don't know.
JACOB: Would you try to kill me?
EDWARD: No.
JACOB: Why not?
EDWARD: Do you really think I would hurt he that way?
JACOB: Yeah, you're right. I know that's right but sometimes..
EDWARD: Sometimes it's an entriguing idea.
JACOB: Exactly.
——————————————————————-Skip Some Time
JACOB: And if she were to decide that she wanted me? Okay, it's a long shot, I'll give you that.
EDWARD: I would let her go.
JACOB: Just like that?
EDWARD: In the sense that I would never show her how hard it was for me, yes.
END OF CONVO
So there. I hsve proved my points, and now I will end this extremfully (is that a word? oh well, it is now) long post.
wow there were a lot of mistakes in that post. hope you people can figure out what i meant to say!
I think that if Jacob had imprinted with Bella everything would have been different. Bella and Jacob would have had the bond between them that Bella and Edward have. But Jacob did not imprint on Bella because the two of them do not have a love that strong. I think that Jacob does love Bella, and just becuase he didn't imprint on her doen't change that fact. Since not all of the werewolves imprint, I do not think that he was really counting on it to find his soul mate, and Bella was as close to a soul mate as he could find, so he went for it. And back to Edward, I think that he would have let Bella go. He loves her so much that I believe he would have let her go if that was what she wanted.
I think if Jacob HAD imprinted on Bella, Bella would again be upset about hurting someone… but I think Edward would give her over because he only cares about her safety and happiness. Edward is not one to start a fight over Bella when he thinks Jacob may be better for her. I would, of course, dislike that cause im very team Edward.
I think that part of Jocob's frustration is that he is utterly confused by the fact that he hasn't imprinted on Bella. He is so sure of his love for her, which is fueled by his hate for Edward, that he wonders why he hasn't imprinted. This confusion leads to doubt in his mind, because he can't deny the contradiction in this situation with Bella.
Sometimes, people have to realize that life requires patience. Understanding and happiness doesn't always come right away. Just take Edward as an example, he has waited over 100 years to find his true love.

As much as I like Jacob as a character, I never thought he was right for Bella, he could certainly do better than her. And if he WAS meant to be with her, he would have imprinted on her. Simple as that.
Burgermeister Meisterburger! Now I have the urge to watch Christmas specials.
Also, I love your song choice, but why the strange remix version? The original by The Killers is much better 😀
Jacob never imprinted on Bella. As has already been pointed out, he would have imprinted the first time he saw her after he phased for the first time. Also, Jacob has tried to imprint on Bella, so that maybe he would have a better chance of changing her mind about becoming a vampire, but obviously it's not something he has control over.
I don't really know how the story would be different if Jacob had imprinted on Bella, other than he wouldn't make her so angry most of the time. The books say over and over again that the werewolf becomes whatever the object of his imprinting needs at the time. So, when Bella just wants Jacob to be her friend, he would be nothing but a friend. He wouldn't insult the vampires, he wouldn't try to kiss Bella when she doesn't want him to, and he wouldn't say things that make her cry. And with all the effort he put into being her friend, I don't think she would have changed her mind about Edward, because she would never have a reason to, Jacob would just be the best friend a girl could have.
Jacob would never have imprinted on Bella. It's just not how the story goes. I just can't imagine it like that. Though, I still can't imagine the story having the outcome it did…but oh well. So I can't answer that one. But if Bella chose Jacob, Edward wouldn't have fought him. He says that if she were to ever outgrow him, that he would not stand against her choice, but he would always be waiting in the wings. That's from Twilight and Eclipse…and maybe even in New Moon. I'm not sure. But he says that multiple times 🙂
Mr. Brightside is a good song for this chapter, by why couldn't you have used the original version by the Killers? I think that one sounds the best.
Oh and also, I don't hate Jacob. He just doesn't belong with Bella. He's just the best friend. Poor him 🙂 I have a guy friend kind of like Jacob, but he's not in love with me, and I don't think of him romantically at all either. But I love him to death, but I would never in a million years date him. I'm sure that's how Bella feels…or felt. Since she kissed him, she realized she is in love with him, sort of. Just not as much as Edward. Which makes no sense to me. I just don't see how you can be in love with two people at a time. But, apparently you can…hmm. I don't get it, but whatever. I also don't understand how she could have someone she's sort of in love with at her wedding. That's just wrong.
If Jacob imprinted on Bella, she would have picked him. BUT, and I know it is never addressed, but I think Edward imprinted on Bella the first time the y touched in biology. If you read teh description in Twilight and MS, it is pretty clear something “sparked” between them.
Yes it would be way different. I think Bella and Jake did imprint Edward would let Bella go.I recall Edward saying to Jake that if she did chooses him he will let her go.he wouldn't hurt her like that…. but why didn't Jake do it before like the time Bella told Jake to kiss her ..or the time that Alice was going to take her to rescue Edward? that would be the perfect time to do something like that!.the down side to that Edward would be dead.D: or be sad somewhere .(thats ok his crazy super fans would be there tehe). But that didn't happen so there has to be someone else out there for him even though he said that there isn't.anyway Bella and Jake's love is kinda really in some ways but it's more like friendship love more than Edward and bella love.
.
i dont think anything would have changed besides jacob being in more pain
Well, first of all, do you really think that Stephenie would have made Jacob imprint on Bella? The whole series is a vampire romance. Werewolves don't count as vampires, last time I checked.
Anyways, I don't think much would have changed. Bella would still have married Edward, she still would have gotten pregnant…etc. Now, I don't want to give anything away to Kaleb, if he miraculously sees this post, but the rest of us who have read it will know what I'm talking about…hopefully. I think that the end of the book would have changed a bit. Just something about the whole imprint twist leads me to believe that something would have changed.
Oh, and I love the chapter names for this section of the book. 🙂
I don't think that it would have changed anything in the book. I could love someone with all of my heart, and I could find a way to be absolutely sure we were meant to be together (hypothetically, im not quite sure how to find that out, but when I do, I'll let everyone know), that doesn't mean the other person has to be with me, does it? Bella already knew that Jacob loved her like that, but Edward is really who she wanted. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Jacob say when he was explaining the idea of imprinting to Bella that there would be no reason for the girl who was imprinted on to not be with that werewolf because they are so meant for each other? But that would not necessarily include the idea of a vampire around, because he also says they are against nature? So, then they aren't included in that whole idea of theres no one else made for them? So, by my very long and confusing and not necessarily correct logic, Edward could be an exception to that rule. 🙂 Point is, she doesn't have to love him enough just because he imprinted. So it just means there is an even more-depressed Jacob hanging around
